“A hidden jem”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

This was our second stay at the Appollo, a treat to ourselves while visiting family in the area, Once again the room was in good condition and the service excellent. Definately something for everyone as the pool is perfect for children and it was lovely to have access to they gym, sana and Jacuzzi for the adults.
The bar was very relaxing and breakfast plentiful and of a very good standard. At the prices offered I can definately recommend this hidden jem. If looking for a deal make sure you contact the hotel direct.

Room Tip: The Ambassador room will sleep 3 and is not always available through offers websites.

“A Little Bit Special”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

Took the £89 package for a night's DBB - great value. Well organised and friendly staff, comfortable room made for a treat. Dinner was, as usual, excellent with choice from an Italian menu as well as the standard one, and breakfast was good too.

Gym, swim and spa enjoyed, though the pool's small for serious swimming if more than four others are using it. We'd have given it a top score if the radiator hadn't clicked through the night and an unrequested wake-up call hadn't further disturbed us at 7.30am.

“Fantastic New Year's Eve at the Apollo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

This is my second stay at the Apollo for a function, having booked the hotel for a family anniversary gathering in May 2011.

Once again, this place really is the business when it comes to arranging functions. The whole evening went like clockwork with excellent food - the fillet of beef in red wine sauce was to die for and the canapes at the start of the evening were so tasty. The entertainment (casino, piper, disco, champagne fountain etc) was also very well organised and entertaining.

I seemed to leave the evening, feeling like I have met loads of new friends as the gathering made it feel intimate. The casino ladies in particular were very welcoming and friendly.

This place really is excellent at organising functions - the staff are friendly and welcoming, whilst being 150% efficient, and all with a smile. Rarely, do you find hotels where their function food is so consistently good!

My room this time was an executive room, but whilst OK is not what I would describe as an executive room, more like a standard room... probably could do with a bit of a facelift, but far from unpleasant.

I'll be back again I am sure!

“business trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

I recently stayed at this hotel on business, I got a better deal via telephone direct with the hotel rather than booking on the web. The room was great, sofa, coffee table all mod cons- expect complimentary bottle of water. I decided to make use of the gym- which was very tired and in need of updating- even the people using it seemed to have no enthusiasm- so on the spur of the moment went in to the beauty room- and booked a facial the girls were able to accommodate me, and I have from Sara perhaps one of the best Elemis facials ever- so if you do consider a treatment- you will get a good experience.
I didn't eat a meal- just had soup- which I have to day was like boiled tomato puree- almost solid gunge- bread was stale not good- however breakfast was fine- good selection of cereals, fruits, full english- help yourself buffet style
on the whole it was fine- free wifi a bonus- but more a good 3 star than 4- I found the staff I encountered very friendly- an iron was delivered and collected to/from my room on request within minutes.

Room Tip: room 203 was nice- but i think any room you'll here noise from the roads

“Fantastic Wedding Day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

My husband and I recently got married at the Apollo hotel and had the most wonderful wedding day, a day which we will always remember with love and happiness, we cannot thank or praise the Apollo hotel’s manager Michael and all his staff enough for making our wedding day truly memorable, it was perfect.

We chose one of the hotel's wedding packages which turned out to be really good value for money, throughout the build up to our wedding day we liaised with Michael on various things and even though we had chosen a wedding package with set menu’s etc Michael was very flexible to our own specific requirements, as did the florist, and lady who made our wonderful wedding cake, everyone involved made us feel that we were the most special couple in the world and that nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel’s evening disco was run by Kieran, he played great tunes throughout the night which soon got all our guests in a party mood; again, we had an input into what choice of music was played throughout the evening, thanks Kieran for a fantastic night.

We must point out that our wedding breakfast was excellent, beautifully cooked food was served to 78 of our day guests, everyone’s meal arrived piping hot to their tables in an efficient manner, all our guests commented on what a wonderful meal they'd eaten, thank you to the Chef and his staff for serving us an excellent wedding breakfast and delicious evening buffet too.

We feel that the hotel’s wedding package was really good value for money and that the hotels service, friendliness of staff and quality of food on our wedding day was second to none. Michael and his team are professional in what they do; we received an excellent service at what we believe to be a good value for money price.

We strongly recommend the Apollo Hotel as a wedding venue to all future Bride and Grooms, if you decide to hold your wedding here, you will not be disappointed.

Yours Truly
