Needed to stay in the centre of Bolton, and this hotel offered the most ideal location.

Looked promising when entering the reception area, large and spacious, but upon climbing the stairs to my second floor room, it was apparent the hotel was in need of a refurbishment.

The room itself was basic and seemed fairly clean, with a large bathroom. It was good to see a large television in the room, but on inspection the aerial lead was missing,

The other main fault was whilst trying to adjust the temperature in the shower, the hot/cold knob fell off.

Didn’t get a very good nights sleep, due to the hotel being situated above a couple of bars and the music being played until late.

Hotel probably ok if you are going to stay only a night and not spend much time in the room.

Stayed earlier in year with friends and was great, However December was dire, wallpaper peeling bedding stained no heating shower did not work staff very unhelpful. Just to mention a few points, I believe Manager has left!! was so bad we just did not stay and went to Holiday Inn just around corner a lot more expensive but at least my skin did not crawl at the thought of the room and bedding. Stay at your own peril. I work with homeless and believe me our emergency accomadation is better than this.

It is many years since I last stayed here and how it has changed. The Foyer is a fine example of Art Deco design but once you get beyond this it goes down hill very quickly. The room I had was a single room, about 6 ft square,with what could only be discribed as a stained army blanket on the bed. The bathroom window was rotten and could not be closed, the central heating was not working in this wing of the hotel and the ceiling paper was peeling off. The staff were pleasant and tried to be helpful but no alternative rooms were available. if staying in Bolton I suggest an alternative venue...

It was my mistake choosing this hotel. it's expensive but poor service. The staff are not all polite and patient and being helpful. The bedding is not very clean and the kettle is rusty. Anyway the old man at the reception is the good one.
