We stayed overnight here in September after arriving on a delayed flight and not feeling up to travelling further.
The hotel was very shabby, and the cleaning was not what you would term thorough. Carpets were encrusted with fluff in corners and the bathroom had a cracked basin that had been repaired with some kind of filler leaving a rough surface. That said, the sheets appeared clean and there were plenty of towels. The whole building smelled like a stale ash tray. And had we not been jet lagged after 24 hour travelling we would not have stayed.
We departed at 7.30 am. In reception there were a pile of keys on the desk from guests that had departed earlier, but no staff in sight, Breakfast room was empty, and no cooking smells were evident. Eventually after 20 minutes, and having rung the bell 3 times, a dishevelled looking man arrived to take our payment. He said he had just nipped out for a smoke, but as we had been out to load our car we knew this to be untrue, I think he had just got out of bed. Luckily we did not have a flight to catch, or we may have missed it.
