“Mixed bag.”

Hotel was selected for me (business trip) and stayed for 2 nights. No problem parking - though stanav on the postcode initially sent me to a health centre 2 miles away! - and staff welcoming, polite and helpful.
Room clean and comfortable, spoilt only by the design fault of having a connecting door to the room adjacent that was not soundproofed, so I had the joy of the company of a loud teenage group shouting till midnight on both nights. I mentioned this to receptionist, who told me there was no party group next to me (so I was imagining it!), but then her colleague stepped in and offered to change the room.
Restaurant as good as any without being anything special. I was offered a promotional menu for a special couples discount, which was a surprise as I dined alone! I have been in hotels with a greater variety of choice at breakfast, but what there was was quite enough.
The bar was as over-priced as all hotels are, but that is to be expected. Note to bar staff - if customers want the TV volume turned up to watch the football, they will ask for it to be done - do not turn it up yourselves just because you are bored.
Overall, if the company sends me back there, I won't mind.

Room Tip: If there are rooms without connecting doors to adjacent ones, osk for one!

“Reasonable for the price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

I stayed here as a cheap option as had an early morning start.

Arrived at the hotel and after reading some of the reviews I was not suprised to find parking within the car park to be awkward. There was a lot of people that were not parked in a space appropriately, which ok is not the hotel's fault but they had a number of contractors on site which took up several spaces unecessarily as they hadn't moved far enough forward in a space.

Upon entering the hotel the check in was easy but I had to ask the member of staff checking me in a number of questions as it was not explained what the charge on the card was being made for. Another issue I had was that when I was asked for the surname the booking was made in I said this and then I was asked three more times and continuously, despite me spelling clearly, my surname.

Upon calling the lift when the lift arrived at the reception level the lift was still moving where the door was open which I find this very strange as there is sometimes a little mis-alignment but this was by quite a lot.

We then arrived in our room which was very large and good value for the price paid.

The bathroom was very dated and could do with a lot of modernising, saying this the shower over bath was set at just the right temperature and also came out at a reasonable speed.

The decor in the main room could do with updating also but is not too bad.

I must say the lights that are in the bedroom are very good allowing you to just have two spot lights on which you can dim or brighten as you need.

Another down side to the room was that it was very cold.

Although we are going through some very cold weather at present I would expect the hotel room to be at least warm enough to be comfortable. This was even after adjusting the thermostat on the wall to 25.

Upon check out this was quick and easy no problems at all.

Overall the price of the hotel is good for a quick overnight stay if you want the very basics.

Firstly apologies for having difficulties to find space in our car park, we do inform our guest at the time of booking that car park has limited space and also try to manage the space when ever it physically possible.
Secondly, some times when we received bookings from agents, there are some details are missing or surname are misspelled, reason have to asked question, which you may find it repetition. We training our entire front desk team to be able to manage such situation, with out causing much of inconvenience to our guest.

We have reported the lift issue to OTIS, who service our lifts and them investigating the issue.

Our reception is manage 24 hours, once guest report of any problem we endeavour to sort it out quickly, I think the problem was not reported hence we could not fix it, however please accept my sincere apology that you find the room cold.

I am pleased that you find our price Value for money.

Hope to welcome you in near future.

“Complete dump and in need of refurb desperately.”

My partner and I stayed in this hotel the night before a morning flight.

The bathroom was mould city - on taps, shower, bath, floor. Disgusting.

Room was old and had stains all over the rug, carpet. Chips in furniture, etc.

I would never stay in this hotel again - at least until they spend a few quid on fixing the place up.

Room Tip: Simple tip - if you want a clean room don't stay here.
