Booked for Afternoon Tea via Groupon, normally had fantastic deals through this company but NOT this time!! VERY disappointed in what we were offered. The photograph shows a typical afternoon tea including sandwiches, selection of cakes AND scones but all we were apparently entitled to was two scones each served with clotted cream and jam. There were NO amazing views as promised in the advert. We were seated in the reception - very impersonal and not particularly deluxe!! The staff were pleasant enough but this was just NOT a good deal at all and would NEVER go back again. Having re-read the advert it does state scones and tea or coffee but why have an amazing picture of a typical and more acceptable afternoon Tea which shows the full works of sandwiches etc which is really what we expected. It was so say worth £28 - I would definately have complained if I had paid that for it. £10 was bad enough but there you go. I do not feel this is a reflection on Groupon mainly due to the misleading photo in the advert.

Don't go for afternoon tea, very poor quality and service. Not stayed at hotel but Lydiard House next door is very nice for a visit and walk around the park.

The room was tiny. It was set up for 1 person and when we asked for more towels and pillows, we found them outside our door on the floor at 10.30pm, once we had returned from our party! Do they only have one key per room? The lady on reception was rude and rather miserable. Only positive was the breakfast and the lovely lady from NZ who served us. Business trip? Not bad. Night away to see relatives? I would find somewhere else!!!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night as my friend got married at this venue. We were put up in a room which apparently is normally only given to single travellers.
The bed was tiny (I swear it was not even a proper double size) and the whole room was set up to cater for just one person - ONE set of towels, ONE cup on the tea tray...) The hotel provided us with facilities for one person, yet charged us for two (£70).
The drinks at the bar were pretty expensive too and the breakfast was nothing to write home about.
If you're a lone person staying here on business then the rooms might be just about adequate. Other than that, don't bother.
