“Superb!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

I visited the harrow in over a month ago, and I was overwhelmed with the quality of the food there. Each dish my friends and I had were cooked to perfection. And there was a wide selection of original dishes to choose from. I live in Bristol and popped in on the way back from swindon with some friends, and we were quite simply astonished with the charm and welcoming atmosphere of the Harrow Inn, let alone the culinary delights that had to offer, so much so that I will make the journey back there in the very near future. Good job Harrow!

“The Harrow Inn, Wanborough is very much back in business”

New Landlady (Vicki) and Chef (Ian) together with their family, friends & staff are making a great team at the Harrow Inn in Wanborough. The ambiance, warm welcome and glowing fires are very inviting. Food is served all day every day. The menu changes regularly and the offerings are consistently very good, with ample well priced, tempting choices ranging from £7.95 - £19. It is clear that the chef is very pationate about his creations and the standard of cooking and quality of ingredients is high. Word has travelled fast and despite only being open 6 weeks it is great to see the pub so busy with repeat diners already. Favourites include Pan-fried Scallops served with Black Pudding, Oxtail & Steak suet pudding and Confit of Tamworth Pork Belly. The chips are hand cut, the fish is fresh and the meat is sourced locally. Not to mention the desserts which are heavenly. I love the Chocolate and Peppermint Torte. There is also a fab breakfast menu serving your full English as well as classics such as Eggs Benedict & Eggs Royale. The Ales have been carefully chosen by Vicki who cares a lot about providing quality beer & good service. You can have 'Thirds' if you wish to sample a few. I find it hard to pass the Harrow on my way back from work without popping in and having a cheese board or sampling one of their new desserts. On Sunday 18th Dec the pub was packed when a local band 'Breeze' played and a good time was had by all. I can't wait for the regular music events to come in the New Year.

“If you like, comfort, good beer & food this is the place for you”

The welcome was superb even though we arrived when the owner was taking a nap. The accommodation just a few paces from the pub entrance was excellent, the beer and cider selection was fantastic as was the quality. The food was gut busting and delicious - just try the mussels in white wine sauce. Don't eat for a day before you eat at the pub!
