My husband and I stayed at the Thornhill Lodge for one night at the end of September. Our room was very spacious, beautifully furnished and decorated, immaculately clean, had two thick, cozy bathrobes, warm towels, and there were freshly made yummy scones waiting for us upon arrival. Across the hall from our room was a very well-stocked kitchen where we could make snacks or help ourselves to drinks from the fridge. A good selection of books (many about the Derbyshire area and its history), magazines and dvds was available. Breakfast was superb and included freshly ground, divine coffee, a full hot breakfast and a selection of fresh fruit, granola,yogurt, and many delicious home made preserves. Rea and Geoff were very helpful hosts and our only regret was that our stay was so short. We cannot recommend the Thornhill Lodge too highly and we are very much looking forward to our next opportunity to stay there...definitely for more than just one night!
