Stayed overnight as we were attending a function in town. The hotel seemed ok, the lobby and bar were quite nice. However the hallways were a warren of tatty threadbare carpets which reminded me of an old people's home. The room needed a luck of paint as did all the woodwork within the room. There were coffee making facilities , a trouser press and an iron which was a nice touch and the bathroom was the best aspect but the shower pressure was non existent and small touches were missing - the tissue dispenser was empty etc. The tv signal was rubbish too! And we couldn't watch any tv due to poor signal !

Oh well we were only using the room to get ready in and sleep in ! However in the midst off getting ready to go out the fire alarm went off! We had to jump out of the shower, pull on jeans and a coat and head off through the warren, with fingers in ears due to the high pitched alarm , to the foyer where we were informed it was a false alarm !! Luckily we saw it as a bit of a laugh at the time and sat in the bar and had a pint before we continued to get ready !

The bed was ok to sleep in but breakfast could have been so much better if the chef and his sidekick had bargained on most folk coming down for breakfast between 9 and 9.30 . We all stood waiting for bacon, then for eggs and breakfast was eaten in 2 halves due to everything not being available at the same time . Poor experience in this hotel ? Yes I think so ! Value for
Money? Nope ! Will I try somewhere else in Derby next year ? You bet !!

Having just held our Christmas party at this Hotel i can catorgorically say that i will never be going back. I can't ever recall experiencing such a poor level of service, especially whilst sat down for dinner. The wait between courses was beyond a joke and having received my main course i then had to wait a further 10 to 15 minutes until the Vegetables and sides were served, by which time my dinner was cold. The same level of service was experienced whilst trying to get a drink from the bar. There must have been a couple of hundred people at the venue that night but i only noticed Two people serving the bar at any one time. Average time to get served a drink was 20 minutes at least. Finally, how trading standards haven't got onto this Hotels case is anyones guess. The pictures of the rooms viewed on the Hotels website are a far cry from some of the rooms that my friends stayed in. If your are into the 70's retro look though this might be right up your street.

Me and my husband stayed here for 2 nights we paid £50 which for the state of the place was a cheek , its worth maybe half of that, infact I will never stay in this hotel again, if I could have I would of gone else where.

We were staying in a ground floor double room with en-suit bathroom that was the buildings outside the hotel reception....it felt like the most dingy bedsit you could imagine.
There was tatty dirty old carpets, and the valance sheets on the bed were absolutely filthy and covered in stains, they clearly have not changed them for well over a year, I was appauled how can you let guests sleep in this! Where are the standards? seems like there are none.

The bathroom was acceptable, I really do not have anything else good to say about it, the staff were alright but we felt cut off from them as we were in the outter building, maybe inside the actual hotel is nice as opposed to their add on bed sit rooms.

I cannot imagine it would take much effort to clean the place up and add a lick of paint its clear the owners do not care about the place, so we don't care to stay there again.

Booked family room through booking.com. I thought it was going to be a modern family room as advertised. It turned out to be a shabby, tatty old family room. I refused to stay and I'm still trying to get my money back. I would not recommend. Scam!
