When we first saw the hotel, we were unsure of what to expect because the outside was mostly brick, but the rest was covered in white rendering, which didn't look good. At the rear is a large secure free car park.
Upon entering the doors at the front of the hotel however, we were suprised to see a bright modern reception area and a beautiful dining room.
The girl on reception was very friendly and knowledgable and she quickly gave us our room number.
Our room was not large but modern and nicely decorated with a large flat screened TV and the usual tea and coffee facilities. The bathroom was modern with a powerful shower!
As we had arrived late in the afternoon we decided to have dinner in the hotel restaurant.
It is primarily Italian food, but they do have other options including various steaks and chicken dishes.
I opted for spaghetti bolognaise, and when it arrived I was delighted with it. I usually leave some of the spaghetti, but this dish was absolutely great. Without a doubt the best I have ever tasted.
Breakfast is self service with a wide choice of hot food and cereals, fruits and bread. I think I counted 25 different items. The only thing my wife and I were not happy with was the sausages. They had a strange taste. I should have told the waiter, but the rest of the food was so good I felt I would be nit picking.
There is a free gymnasium on the premises, which was usually empty. Not suprising as most people would be happy just relaxing in the lounge after eating here.
The location is very good, with the railway station being just across the road, and the Westfield Centre about 10 minutes walk away.
We came to this hotel because of a special offer that was on. So we had a lovely time at a bargain price, but we would come here again even if it was at normal prices. We highly recommend the Smart Aston Court Hotel.
