“Great stay - Excellent food, facilities and staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Booked through Laterooms.com in the middle of January after seeing good reviews here.

All I can say is praise - excellent quality room (double bed very comfy, good desk and plenty of wardrobe/storage space, personal kettle and drink making facilities, mini-fridge, hair dryer, trouser press, wifi, good ensuite bath/shower) friendly and helpful staff, great leisure facilities (15m swimming pool, Jacuzzi, Steam room and Sauna).

Only minor issue was the aircon-heating: the unit was quite noisy when on but did warm the room quickly. Other comment was that the light switches were very confusing because of so many controls but not a problem.

We had a meal in the Brasserie - fantastic food, and excellent service but quite expensive (came to over £50 for 2 of us without any drinks).

The breakfasts were also first class: plenty of food and of very good quality. Choice was pretty much everything you could imagine for breakfast!

The staff are very accommodating too: we got caught in the snow and I didn't want to drive in the morning so asked if we could stay in our room until 1 and they made arrangements for this without a quibble.

Many thanks to the staff for making our stay so good.

“Great hotel for a break but ask questions first!”

We've stayed twice now at this hotel, first time was fabulous and we enjoyed it thoroughly. I should start by saying we have a daughter with autism so we had a few requests like getting a room near the lift and the first floor lounge area. Second trip we requested the same room and were assured it would be fine. Unfortunately when we arrived we were told the room wasn't available but we had been upgraded which was very kind of them at reception. However the upgrade was really not suitable for us with our young daughter as it was to the furthest room in the hotel, far from the main lifts and the lifts closest to us were out of order the whole time we were there. You had to climb up some stairs from the back fire escape stairwell to get up there - felt like a service area and not a hotel. The room was lovely and spacious though. We got room service once for breakfast but it was so far from the kitchen that the next night we noticed nO menu was left for us to order from so we didn't really get that option again. We cancelled our last night as it just wasn't the same and we didn't feel like we were in a hotel in the end - too far away from everything. We will go back I'm sure but will insist on a room that best serves our family. Restaurant is fab and staff are friendly and the swimming pool is great if you have kids.

We stayed at Mickloever Court on a 2 night break - it was really great. Our room was superb. The food was excellent. The breakfasts were to die for and all the staff we met were excellent. We cnnot speak highly enough of this hotel. Well done to all staff and management.

We just felt like a night away and where else but to a hotel we can trust. We have visited this hotel on several occasions and its great. Great room, good service, great restuarant and nice staff. If you want to relax then there is the leisure centre which is brilliant.
If you need a break and want good value and know it will be all ok then The Mickleover Court is for you.

Room Tip: Upgrade of you want its really worth it.

“Ideal for business”

Booked this hotel for a one night stay on business in Derby. It is a little way out from the centre but found it easily. Check in was handled well and my room was standard but did notice the bathroom was fresh and clean. I had breakfast included this was served quickly the morning staff were friendly and I had a good experience staying at this hotel even though it was short and sharp.
