Just what a Holiday Inn Express should be.

Smart, clean, well located, great staff.

Bed, a standard double, was a bit hard.

Personally, I can't stand the breakfasts! That said, I know in advance what I'm going to get.

Stayed on Sunday night this time. Very pleasant reception. However, room allocated had faulty bedside light and no soap in the rather dodgy dispenser by the hand basin. We were allocated a different room and this was ok but, as others have commented, takes a long while to get warm. Room dimly lit for business travellers. Breakfast not as good as last visit--cardboard croissant, and juice dispenser out of order with no alternative provided.pleasant dining area and all areas of hotel clean and welcoming. OK for overnight stop and decent value.

We stayed here for two nights. I personally felt the hotel was in a great location (Tesco, Subway, Indian Restaurants, Pubs).Our room was on the ground floor. The room was very neat & the bathroom, extremely clean. The bathroom had no bath but a beautiful shower cubical. The breakfast is included in the room rent.

The first night we went to the pub - Bumble Bee, that is located right next to the Hotel. We loved it there, though it was very crowded. It was very cold that night and we got a place near the fireplace. Coudn't have asked for a more romantic evening..

The next day morning we were exploring the places around Gloucester, so we went for breakfast by 7:0. The breakfast room was already set and is quite big. It had a full English breakfast with: Bread(toast), Baked beans, Yogurt, Fruits, Cornflakes, Sausages, Scrambled eggs, Croissant, Pain au chocolat, Apple Juice, Orange Juice and loads of options for Hot beverages (I loved the Cappuccino). Being a veggie, I was sooo looking forward for some hash browns... Was a teeny-tiny bit sad coz it wasn't there.. But no issues, will live to eat it another day :)..

OVERALL: Lovely hotel, Great location, Friendly staff...BUT... Needs more lighting for room (@night) & Needs hash browns for Breakfast.

Stayed here whilst on business. Typical middle of the road chain hotel. Very average to say the least. Room was cold and took ages to warm up. The hotel has the thinnest duvets in the world and I have sheets at home that are just as thick.I had to take the cover off the sofa bed just to keep warm. The shower was hanging off the wall and the water pressure was non existent.

This place is just very very average and offers nothing more or less than a bed for the night ( and a pretty cold and uncomfortable one at that ). Stay only if you have to and your company is paying!!! I would rather drive for an hour in either direction if I was paying.

One thing that does compare to other better quality and comfortable hotels is, however, the overpriced bar.

All in all a very frustrating and underwhelming experience.
