We have recently used B&B's more than hotels when having city breaks and we could not have chosen better than Applewood House in Harrogate. We stayed for one night, a Friday in May. It is located about 15 minute walk along a leafy road with parks on either side away from the noisier routes into the centre of the town, a really pleasant stroll after a few drinks and a meal out.

The hosts Barry & Lesley are lovely people who take exceptional pride in their work and it is no coincidence that this B&B is achieving 100% reviews on here. The rooms are contemporary modern, extremely clean with nice touches such as fresh milk on arrival, a sweetie bowl and free wifi - the bed is actually the comfiest we have slept on apart from our own at home, we both commented on it being the best nights sleep ever away from home.

Breakfast is fantastic with home made preserves, fresh fruit & nuts, cereals and of course full English, we chatted to our hosts for ages about holidays and picked up some very useful information from them.

I don't think anybody could honestly mark this place down, you would have to be a right misery not to like Applewood House.

Personal service by Barry and Lesley was second to none - and the excellent choices at breakfast made our stay very special.

I stayed in Applewood for a long weekend on business, the only negative was not getting more time to spend in lovely Harrogate. I've travelled on business quite a bit so am used to a variety of experiences, I can honestly say the room was immaculately kept with a large clean bathroom unusual for single rooms. Great personal touches, room facilities, fantastic and flexible breakfast facilities and lovely owners!

We stayed mid week unfortunately to attend a funeral. However, Applewood House is a lovely place to stay, really clean, tasteful, comfortable rooms. Very convenient for the Town Centre, also close to the RHS Harlow Carr Gardens and handy for the conference centre or theatres. In a pleasantly quiet leafy road, Applewood is a lovely building with character but very modern interior. Breakfast was delicious with lots of homemade preserves,a homemade compote and their own mix of fruit and nuts. Very friendly chatty hosts. Thoroughly recommended.
