On arrival the host was very welcoming and easy to chat to, we instantly felt at home. We were showed to our room (room 1) and it was lovely. It was spotlessly clean and again felt very homely. The bed was very comfy and had a proper duvet! Breakfast the next morning was great! The hotel is in a good location and close to harrogate center, we would definately return!!

We visit Harrogate every January, and have previously booked well-named and larger hotels based on brand name or appearance. We'd also been disappointed.
NOT THIS TIME THOUGH!!! We'd decided as a small business owner ourselves, to support the local businesses and opt for a guest house. Research of ratings brought us to Acorn Lodge, and we were not disappointed at all.
Fabulous rooms (we nosied at a couple!) including our own which had a luxurious bathroom and a very comfy bed.
Phil was an excellent host and chef (fantastic breakfasts for the meat-eating husband and the veggie me!), nothing was too much trouble, there was a real homely feeling (which even included Olive the cat, and Phil's lovely daughter who kept me chatting and sharing her secrets on the Sunday morning!!)
Acorn Lodge is in a perfect place for the conference centre, as well as local bars and restaurants (we recommend Le D2 and Horroscope).
Despite the trip being mainly for business, we had a lovely time, and will definitely be booking with Phil next year. Thank you!!

With all of the hustle and bustle of Christmas - my partner and i decided to get away for a night. It was my first time in Harrogate and i loved every second!
Acorn Lodge was so warm and welcoming - (especially Phil - who was incredibly friendly, helpful and genuine). Our room was a real treat and the spa pool an added bonus! We found ourselves in the perfect location with only a 5 minute stroll to the shops and restaurants.
Breakfast was fab and set us up nicely for our journey home just in time for Christmas!

I would recommend this to anyone (i already have) and will hopefully be making another visit in 2012.
