Just spent a lovely weekend at this hotel and what a bargain it turned out to be.
The location was brilliant, it is in the very centre of Harrogate, just across the way from Bettys Tearoom, 2 minutes from the Conference Centre, Turkish Baths and bus/train station. When we arrived Friday night we weren't able to get in the free car park as it was full, but you could park for free on the road until 8am in the morning and then our car went in a nearby multi storey car park for 24 hs for £6. We didn't need the car again until we were leaving as we were in the centre for shopping, restaurants etc which was ideal.
On arrival the reception staff were very welcoming and we seemed to have been given a free upgrade to a suite which was much appreciated. The room was more than acceptable. We had a minor issue with a faulty lamp which was dealt with swiftly and in a friendly manner. The hotel has stairs or 2 lifts although I have to say that one of the lifts is probably the smallest I have ever seen.... supposed to take upto 6 people but realistically only 3 very intimate people could squash in there!
Our deal included breakfast and we were greeted in a very welcoming manner by the restaurant staff, offered a pot of tea or coffee and invited to help oursleves to a range of hot cooked foods or various cold fruits and cereal. The food was decent and plentiful with friendly but not obtrusive staff.
All in all the hotel was excellent value for money and we would certainly stay there again.
