My wife & I stayed for one night on New Year's Eve 2011.

The location of The Alvera is ideal for a city centre visit and/or the Harrogate Conference Centre. A very comfortable B & B, with minimum noise from outside or other rooms, clean and well maintained.

Colin was a very accommodating host who was very pleasant, with a keenness to share information and suggestions.

As with most converted Victorian buildings, the ensuite bathroom was a little tight in terms of space. While the secondary double-glazing was effective in terms of external noise reduction, it did make opening windows for ventilation something of a challenge,

Lovely friendly welcome, rooms clean and well equipped.
Staff very helpful with information to the local area, would stay here again without any hesitation. Parking is very good if you get to the hotel in plenty of time, limited parking spaces but can park in the quiet street with permit provided.
Would recommend a stay here with walking distance to central town and bars.

my wife and i had avery pleasant stay at alvera court. the room was very nice andthe breakfast lovely.colin was very helpful and thoughtful and put us onto the local amenities, which we enjoyed.harrogate is a very nice place and we would return here to the place and the hotel anytime .thank you for making our stay so nice.

Myself and partner stayed at the Alvera Court in October after booking last minute (that afternoon!) following reviews online.

We were greeted with a warm welcome from Colin who showed us around the available rooms for that evening – all were immaculate and of a much higher standard than we were expecting for the price. The room we chose to stay in had beautiful décor, a large king sized bed (with an AMAZING memory foam mattress that felt like sleeping on a cloud!), a flat screen television, complementary toiletries/tee’s coffee’s etc, a large cupboard, and towels and bedding were also of a very high standard. An important aspect for me (being female!) was the choice of mirrors in the room and a beautiful dressing table next to power sockets – I have often been frustrated in previous hotels by mirrors placed in dark corners out of reach of electronic hair appliances!

Before heading out for the evening we asked Colin for advice on where best to eat out in the local area and he kindly provided us with a map and discount vouchers, as well as recommending his personal favourites. It was a short walk (less than five minutes) to Harrogate’s high streets and we were spoilt for choice for places to dine and drink.

The next morning we enjoyed cereals, toast and fruit, followed by a delicious English breakfast. Colin was so attentive that he even brought me over a glass of water when he heard me coughing! After breakfast he provided us with a full day’s free parking permit and recommended places to visit in Harrogate before our journey home.

All in all we were delighted at the service and experience we gained from staying at Alvera Court – including the best night’s sleep we have both had for a long time! Would recommend to ALL and will definitely be back in the near future.
