The room was of a good size with a large bed. But the room could done with a make over. The bathroom was old fashioned with a coloured suite. In one corner of the room it look as if there was a patch of damp. On the up side the hotel is in a great location very central but also quiet on a evening. There is free on site parking which is great as parking is not always easy in Harrogate and costly. The hotel is very up to date on the ground floor and breakfast area. But the room we were in was not. It was booked last min so we did not pay the normal full tariff. Still enjoyed weekend.

We three friends met up for a girls together week-end in Harrogate as we come from different parts of the country and this was a good central point for us. We had three rooms together and each one was impressively furnished, large and clean. The restaurant is both modern yet intimate and the food was delicious. As the food is freshly cooked no meal was rushed which was a delight and allowed for a good chatter. I asked if the chef did fresh berries and he kindly bought in same for my dessert for the following two nights - thats service I think. The hotel is small, clean, modern, very convenient to walk to town. Being a single traveller and often staying in hotels via my travel routes I found this one very safe compared to the much larger hotels and would definetly stay again. We also used the facilities of the spa one night and that too was good.

We have just returned from a fantastic weekend in Harrogate staying at Grants Hotel. From the moment we arrived through the door we received a very warm welcome from the General Manager and from then onwards the staff were very polite and courteous throughout our two night stay. We had a lovely spacious 4 poster room and ensuite bathroom and everywhere was very clean. The warm and inviiting Reception area and bar with the beautiful colours and gorgeous lampshades, comfy sofas and heat made you want to stay ! The Steak House was awesome !! The food was excellent - my starter of Oven baked Camembert with red onion chutney was to die for ! I would have had it for main and dessert as well ! My partner had a lovely steak dinner and the dessert menu was so hard to choose from . We decided on the richest yummiest sticky toffee pudding and new york cheesecake. Full english breakfast each morning was a delight to wake up too - the chef definitely deserves an award for presentation and well cooked food. Overall we had a fantastic experience at Grants and we most definitely look forward to going back again.

I booked this hotel with some reservation after reading some of the reviews ..How glad Iam that I did .. from the minute we arrived it was all we hoped it would be . The package was well put together from the aftrenoon tea to the fabulous gala dinner on New Years Eve it was all excellent .

Our room a four poster was warm and inviting, Storm Steakhouse is a great place to eat and i would cretanily recommend to the locals.

All the staff were very attentive and nothing was to much trouble .

I would recommend to anyone wanting a break in Harrogate its location is ideal for walking into the shops or driving further afield if desired
