“A very nice Travelodge”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 May 2012

This travelodge is just outside the pretty village of Eye Green about 5 miles from the centre of Peterborough. It is very easy to find (even through my Sat Nav took me through the village) and it has a Little Chef attached to it. Behind is a 24hr garage, which I was worried about because of the possible noise but pleased to say was noise was OK. Stayed here twice now on overnight breaks and have found it very clean, not tired looking and the staff very helpful on both occasions.

“Not one of Travelodge's better efforts....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 April 2012

Hotel, although central, is near some rough looking bars and clubs, and behind the market. As a female travelling solo, I didn't fancy coming back after dark.
My room was quite tired, no chair at the desk, no remote for the tv, and only one teaspoon which didn't look as though it had been washed properly.
Parking is adjacent, at 4 pounds for 24 hours.
Prize for the towels though....still white, and quite fluffy.

“One of the nicer Travelodges around”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 March 2012

Beware of some of the reviews on this page - there is a HUGE difference between the Travelodge at Peterborough (Eye Green) (this page) and the Travelodge in the centre of Peterborough. Unfortunately several of the reviews seem to be confusing the two.

This particular Travelodge is on the outskirts of the pretty village of Eye, a few miles outside Peterborough. Although located at Eye Services on the busy A47, noise isn't a problem. There is a Little Chef and McDonalds but Sainsbury's is a few minutes away by car and there are plenty of eating places within easy reach.

When offering a no-frills motel service, one way to make a stay enjoyable is to have decent customer service. Eye Green is lucky to have lots of staff that really do care about customers. Having booked a separate room for my older children they went out of their way to provide adjoining rooms, were very helpful in advising on public transport connections and even - when trying to extend our stay and the hotel was full - phoned other hotels that were recommended to book us in.

I would easily recommend Travelodge Eye Green to anyone looking for a no-frills motel. However, with the Peterborough Central Travelodge being one of the worst places to visit, be very careful when booking to make sure you don't select the Travelodge in the town centre.

“great for what it is....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 March 2012

when you consider what you would expect from a travelodge and I'm not being rude when I say this...but all you expect is somewhere to lay your head, nothing spectacular. but we were pleasantly surprised, we have stayed at a travelodge before and that was quite tired and battered, but this one was nice, well presented and very friendly staff and the little chef where we had breakfast was also good..... will stay again.

“Smelly,dirty,dangerous hostel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

I wanted a budget hotel - I don't expet the Ritz. but I want basic, clean and safe for my money.
Our room was cleanish but smelt a little like an old lockeroom. The bed was like a prison bed with pillows that could have doubled up as coasters they were so thin.
I ordered an Iron from reception when I got back to my room i noticed the plate was smashed and it two places the bare "LIVE" wires were sticking out of the flex. This could KILL YOU. Needles to say I decided not to use it and return to reception where the teenage receptionist was clearly not in a mood to help but found A) That the Iron was leathal B) they had nothing else to offer me amusing. There is no manager on duty - it seems our welfare and safety are in the hands of totally unsuitable people.
I saw the maanager the next morning who apologies bu ttold me they don't provide Irons telling me that yes they did have leaflets in the room saying they did and they adveetise this on the website but the copmany DO NOT provide Irons for hotels and they have to tell every guest that the corporate marketing material is wrong. They buy an occasional Iron from petty cash.Overall not really bothered about the state of what her receptionish sent up or my unhappiness with the way it was dealt with.
My room had a large space, as I was with friends I discovered that they had fold out sofa beds in thier rooms but looking at the state of them I was glad we didn't. We spent a good 20 minutes playig guess the stains on one guys room.
I couldn't wait to leave and if they think that's an acceptable product they are a long way off.
FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE.
