This seems to be a fimiliar finding when staying at Travelodges these days. Although the room was reasonably clean, you just had a sense that the place was a bit tired - soot marks on the wall above the room heater, paint patched on the walls where pictures had been moved, and the old screw holes just left visible. The matress was awful and so not a very restful night's sleep was had, only 3 pillows (bit of an odd number for 2 guests) and no extra bedding. There is only the makings for 2 cups of tea and coffee and not even a bar of soap! Next time, I think I'll pay the extra and go to a Premier Inn.

I know know how Steve McQueen felt when sent to the cooler in the Great Escape! The windows will only open a couple of inches for saftey? in a heat wave the lack of air and high temperature of the room was not for my safety. The noise from the traffic outside continued through the night, so if you like your sleep best avoid!

No soap at the hotel, a business partner on the trip was told they had had no soap for a number of days. Today I returned to my room to find the tea and coffee had not been replaced, the reason for this no Milk!! the mugs that were left dirty in the room I can only assume they have nothing to clean them with?

Book some where else!!

The Travelodge at Eye Green is a nice hotel. The staff are very very friendly, polite and welcoming. The rooms are always clean and well laid out. Being a newer Travelodge (compared to Alwalton) the standard of the bathroom is much better.

I liked staying in the hotel however its one downside is it is in the middle of nowhere, literally. I would also not recommend the Little Chef next to it. Tried it once, never again. However "The Greyhound" just up the road does good pub grub and there are some decent take-aways in Eye.

All in all if I was to stop in the area I would be happy to stop here.

I thought this was a brand which could be trusted but could not have been more disappointed. The car park is too small for the number of rooms, however I was lucky to get a very tight space.

The staff on reception were very unhelpful and disinterested on check in. My room on the first floor was dirty, the chair was stained so badly i didn't want to sit on it and the air conditioning units outside noisy all night which combined with the petrol station wasn't a good combination. I was told the hotel was full so an alternative room wasn't available.

All in all a very disappointing experience which I wouldn't repeat even with a very good deal.
