“Nice weekend away”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

I recently stayed here and was given a nice room, in block b which is the newer part of the building, be sure to ask for this as the other block is very old and run down looking.

The room was nice and modern, bed was abit doddy but was fine in the end as only stayed for 1 night.

There was an asian girl on reception that wasnt very friendly on saturday and when i complained about something not working she said they will be with me soon , and an hour later nothing done, so i called her back to complain, but she didnt seem too bothered.

The food was nice in the hotel , simple and tasty and breakfast was also good.

Leisure centre was nice , with a pool 20metres, sauna and steamroom, abit too much chlorine in the pool, had soar eyes after, but was very clean,

Staff in general were friendly enough and helpful except fore the girl i called to complain.

All in all nice stay, but town is abit boring so not sure if i would go again.

Dear Colin,
Thank you for your recent stay with us and for taking the time out to review your stay at our hotel. I'm delighted to hear that you found the food tasty, rooms nice & modern, the staff friendly and the leisure centre had great facilities.
In relation to the level of chlorine in the pool I have reported this to the leisure centre management. The leisure centre manager has informed me that they test & monitor levels of chlorine in the pool every two hours.
In relation to the receptionist who was not very friendly she has been reprimanded and I assure you that this is not the standard of practice in our hotel.
Thank you again for you review and stay with us at Treacy's Hotel.
Kind Regards,

“Dump”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

Stayed here for one night. The whole hotel is in need of a serious refurb. The carpark is too far away. The bar staff are rude and obnoxious. When we entered to bar at 6.30pm there was a man asleep on the bar and the bar was dirty. the barstaff were rude and seemed unhappy in general.. The barfood was ok . The room was nice enough and bed was comfortable.
The breakfast was like a cattlemarket with free-for-all self service. The food was low quality,
I wont be back to this Kip!

Room Tip: Don't stay here

Dear Johnny,
That you for taking the time to review our hotel. All feedback is greatly appreciated as it is with your remarks that we can improve our hotel. I'm happy to hear that you liked your room and that the bed was comfortable for you. I'm glad that you enjoyed our bar food too and I am extremely shocked to hear that you found a man asleep on the bar. I am looking into this matter at the moment to see how this happened and also into the matter of the bar staff being rude. This is certainly not standard practice in our hotel and I am treating this as an extremely important matter. I would like to speak to you about your stay in our hotel. If you wish to do so please contact me on sales@thwaterford.com.
Once again I would like to thank you for staying with us and also reviewing our hotel.
Kind Regards,

“Good for business”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2011 via mobile

The hotel is an a good position, near the train station and the city center.
The room are not huge, but it's comfortable.
The really good point of this hotel are:
1) gym inside che hotel, there is also swimming pool, sauna jacuzzi and steem room.
2) internet inside the room works for real, good and fast connection, you can really work fine from the hotel.

I think that this hotel is a good value for who's have to stay for some day in Waterford for business!

“surprisingly nice and comfortable and good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

Stayed here a few weeks ago, central to waterford city being on the quays and everywhere within walking distance, no need for a taxi. The room was small and a little bit cramped if im being overly fussy but was perfectly fine. Tracey's is a city centre hotel and i know being from the south east area its been around a long time. The room was spotlessly clean, well presented and very cosy. The bathroom was also very nice, modern and clean with bath.

The tv was a nice HD telly hung on the wall and had a good range of channels, from english speaking to some foriegn language channels also if i remember correctly. What i was disappointed with was that they DID NOT have TG4. Ireland's channel dedicated to irish speakers and the gaelic language. This was a sore point if im being honest and i think its imperitive the Hotel should have this.

Quick and polite check in and i had orignally booked a double room just for one person but last minute my girlfriend decided to come along and this was no problem to the staff. We stayed Friday night and we got a great rate of about 68euros or somthing around that figure for both of us.

For somewhere so centrally located with some nice pubs in the area and leisure centre located on site, i think you cant say fairer than that.

We stayed at the time of the Ireland v Wales rugby and the hotel bar was open at 6am to accomodate anyone wanting to watch the game. We didnt hear any noise or commotion in our room from any sort of revellers.

As regards service we cant really comment apart from check in and check out which was perfect, but we gave a "3" rating as we hadnt any real interaction other than this. I think check in/out should be like this anyway and i feel this is fair rating. Its "sitting on the fence" but i think this is understandable on this occasion. What i also felt let the hotel down was no wifi access. My girlfriend rang reception and they directed her to the Lan/Ethernet connection which didnt really work for my girlfriend, this could be at her own admittance, user illiteracy. I hadnt the time to check this myself.

Check out was a speedy transaction.

Overall we were very pleased with our stay...what more can you ask for paying 68euros on a weekend night in a city centre.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on our hotel. It's only from such feedback that help us make improvements in our hotel. I'm delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us at Treacy's Hotel.
As regards TG4 we are currently in the process of switching to Saorview and as a result we had been experiencing a few issues during the transition. Once again I'm delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay with us and we look forward to welcoming you again.

Was unfortunate to be booked into this hotel by a family member. Arrived tired and weary, left more tired and weary. reception more interested in collecting E 62.50 P.p E125 overnigth than our comfort.
Room was small , toilet wouldn't flush and unable to "Sleep" due to vibration underneath room, Eventually moved to another COLD room in our night attire where we got some sleep.
Nobody interested in customers and no reduction for a very uncomfortable experience.
Would look after us on next visit. No Thanks!!

Hi Niamh760,
Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. All reviews are very helpful and appreciated. I'm disappointed that you didn't find our staff here courteous and friendly and that your room facilities were not working properly. This is not standard practice in our hotel. I would love if you could take a few more minutes of your time to go through with me all details of your stay. My email address is sales@thwaterford.com if you could contact me on that.
Thanks again for your review.
