Hotel facilities are adequate, gym is looking dated. After the gym I was ravenous and looking forward to a good meal and a pint, unfortunately I got 2 pieces of burned breaded fish( catch of the day but no description!!) also the chips with it were quite obviously frozen shoestring chips!!

Should have gotten the burger, I was really disappointed with the meal, but the pint was nice.

Would stay again, but would not eat here again.

I stayed in the Woodlands Hotel during the Christmas period and I really enjoyed my stay. Although limited the everything we ate off the Bar Food menu was gorgeous and from speaking to other guests the set menu from the restaurant sounded beautiful. The staff were very friendly and while young the bar staff seemed to be traditional and friendly, chatting to all of the customers, the non residents seemed to uphold the friendly atmosphere in the bar. On checking in the Reception was manned by two younger women and both of them were very friendly, one chatting to us while the other organised our room and ensured it was ready for us. When we entered the room it was spotless and fresh, the rooms were spacious and felt more like a 4* rather than a three star. The only problem with the hotel was the Christmas party going on when we arrived. The hotel was beautifully decorated but the noise from the party kept going until the early hours of the morning.

Nice hotel with clean rooms. Our tv didn't work, but was fixed very quickly. Restaurant had good food and the service was good. Booked a family room and got one double bed and three twin beds. Plenty of towels too.

i booked a weekend recently in this hotel. arrived on friday afternoon about 4pm, had 4 bags to bring to the room. ask reception could i have a trolly. they brought a 2 wheeled truck out and left it beside the car.so loaded the bags myself etc. after checkin we headed via the shakey lift to the first floor. the room was cold a dbl and a single bed in the room which the matresses were shaped like bannanas two flat pillows, granted there was extra pillows in the room. i found to half cigarettes from the previous room owners in the bed side locker.everything we touched was uncleaned and sticky. also on offer for vegetarians was pasta with tomato sauce nothing else. we checked out the next day......dont book this hotel
