“BRILLIANT HOSPITALITY, FAB FOOD, BEAUTIFUL LOCATION”

Tom and Ruth the owners of this wonderful B&B are delightful they have gone out of their way to make our holiday a very special experience. The B&B is a beautiful bugalow set in gorgeous grounds, we stayed in a purpose built annex with its own access to the garden. The B&B is ideal for the disabled and abled bodies alike. The B&B is a set in beautiful countryside only a short drive from Monaghan Town. The food was fabulous, the service excellent and the accomodation was top rate.

“Very Homely Accomodation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 April 2009

We have just returned from our 1 night trip to Monaghan and to the Febane House B&B and I must say from start to finish we were made very welcome. We stayed in a converted garage with a single and two double beds (2 seperate bedrooms) c/w with bathroom. It was so clean, warm and comfortable. It was lovely to be able to come and go without disturbing people in the main house. Ruth & her husband were very welcoming and really looked after us very well including the children. Tks very much again to both of them. They have a lovely home. The following morning we had a lovely breakfast in the conservatory. I would have no hesistation in recommending this B&B to anyone. Thankyou again and if we are ever in the Monaghan area again we will give you a call.

“Great Bed & Breakfast with a real Irish Wellcome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2007

Stayed at Febane House for 2 nights whilst attending a family wedding at a local 4 star hotel .
What a find . A real Irish wellcome awaits all who stay at Febane House . The proprieter Ruth Russell is a really nice lady who genuinely loves having people stay in her beautifull home .
Nothing was too much .
The russel family are really great hosts .
The room was very clean , comfortable , modern and a great nights sleep was had by all . The ensuite was brand new with a great shower . Just lovely .
The breakfast was in one word FANTASTIC . Best i´ve had in Ireland . This bed and breakfast is a great base for travelling around this part of Ireland and is so close to the border you can just about see it ! So you have both the south and the north to enjoy . Monaghan is a lovely friendly town .
Even if you dont drive this bed and breakfast is just a 7 euro taxi ride away from the bus station- town centre but Ruth Russell to her great credit came and picked myself and my sister up from the bus station which really helped us out .
We loved this place ..it was an all round very successfull stay .
boy do i miss Ruth Russels breakys tho !
gotta go back just to savour another one .

“An Excellent B+B With A Real Home To Home Feel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2007

Just got back from my first ever trip to County Monaghan . Went to attend a family wedding . The bride and Groom had given all the guests a list of b&b's in the area and we initially chose Febane House for its close proximity to the Hillgrove Hotel where the wedding reception was being held . I can tell you honestly what a Great Choice of B+ B it was !
The Owner of Febane House is a lady called Ruth Russell and from the beginning to the end of our stay this lady was an exemplary and very welcoming host . We arived via coach from Dublin Airport - a straight forward journey of 1hr and 40 mins . We phoned Ruth on our arrival at the coach park and she came to pick us up in her car which i thought was an amazing gesture . On arrival at Febane house we found to our delight one of the most beautifull Bungalows i have ever been in my life . It was huge and had been extended and added to over the 37 years or so the Russel family have been in residence .The setting was stunning with a riot of colour from all the plants and flowers in the very well maintained gardens right down to the hillside views and cows in adjoining fields .
We were shown to our room which was a twin with onsuite . The room was very pretty , light and airy with beautifull bedlinen and a great power shower in the ensuite . We also viewed the triple room which was stunning and built into a converted garage . Family friends stayed in here and they too were delighted with their choice .They actually got a little lost and Ruth was willing to go out in her car and meet up with them but due to her great directions they arrived within ten minutes .
Ruth welcomed us into her fantastic family kitchen with a fresh pot of tea , cake and the most amazing shortbread biscuits i have ever tasted in my life . It felt like home in the most wonderful way .
We settled in and that night Ruth took us to the four seasons hotel in her car so we could have a drink and pub meal . She even offered to pick us up again but we decided to get a taxi back . The next morning we awoke to a fabulous breakfast in the conservatory with hillside views . The breakfast was simply incredible . i started with fresh grapefruit and orange segments , followed by a full irish breakfast ( all done on a health grill ) and finished off with toast and marmalade and cup after cup of steaming coffee . We also had fresh orange juice and a full range of cornflakes . I was in heaven . We got ready for the wedding and Ruth even gave us a lift to the Hillgrove hotel .
Now i must comment on the fact that we had a lot of friends staying in the hillgrove hotel and the four seasons both of which we personally visited during our stay . We we'rnt that impressed and a lot of our family members were saying the prices ( 200 euros + a night per room ) for both of these hotels were not in any way justified and that the breakfasts were not up to much .
Yet we had a fantastic time at Febane house and our friends who stayed in other local b+b's were also very impressed by the local hospitality .
We had a great night tho and once again awoke to a fab breaky and one of Ruth Russels Heart warming smiles .
I would reccomend this b+b to anyone - its a great base for travelling around , visiting local family members , attending weddings etc Febane house is spotless , beautifully furnished and yet very homely . Ruth Russel and her family are genuinely nice people who go out of their way to make your stay special . We loved it and hopefully will be going back next year .
