I feel that I just have to write about this property and the owners, they are honestly the nicest people you are likely to meet anywhere.
Let me begin. Myself and my husband were travelling from Kerry to go to a friends wedding in the Hillgrove and we decided to stay here. I called the owner, Seamus and told him we would be arriving very late, roughly 12.00 - 1.00am. Not a problem. When we arrived, Seamus met us at the door with a very large smile. He brought us down to our bedroom which was very nicely decorated and there and then he offered to make us a cup of tea and sandwiches after our long journey.
We proceeded to tell him that we were here for a wedding and I started enquiring about hair dressers. He insisted on bringing me to the hair dresser and back to the house after I getting my hair done for the wedding that morning and true to his word he did. Could you get any nicer?
Well it did. We had a fantastic breakfast- as much as you could eat! We informed Seamus that we would be arriving back from the wedding very late and we would need to leave in the morning early (6am)due to other arrangements. He and his wife insisted that we make the house our own in the morning and take whatever we wanted for breakfast - we didn't but it was nice of them to offer!
I'd highly recommend this property to anyone. It really felt like a home away from home, we were treated like family that were briefly visiting for a few days. I'll definitley go there again next time I'm in Monaghan and you should too!!!!
