We found Bridie McDermott and her husband to be warm and hospitable, and their home was both spotless and very comfortable! The B&B is located on a rural road south of N-5, between Castlebar and Westport. (The blue directional sign on N-5 mentions 2km, but the B&B was closer to 4km from the main road - - but well worth the effort to find.) We booked the B&B through a Tourist Information Office. Not knowing anything about the property in advance, we were very pleasantly surprised; Cashel Cairns was one of our top two B&B experiences during our trip to Ireland! Located about 20 minutes drive east of Westport, the B&B is in a quiet rural setting but with all the comforts of a modern home. Our room was large and cheerful, and we wish we could have taken the designer bathroom home with us. Bridie and her husband made every effort to insure our comfort. In addition to three guest rooms they also have a family unit. We would highly recommend their B&B for a stay in the Westport area, with easy access to the Connemara region of Ireland.
