stayed in the "d" last night. I am far from a light sleeper but I was woken 4 or 5 times during the night. every time a door was closed on my corridor the wall in my room vibrated. the bed was attachted to the wall which shook. the reason for the shaking was that the wall werent solid (not appropriate for a purpose built hotel) when i mentioned it to reception they seemed surprised. As i said, i am not a light sleeper so beleive that i am not the only guest to experience this issue.

The hotel is quite modern for such a small town, very large rooms with quality furnishings. It's also got a nice riverfront restaurant with reasonably priced meals.

I'd definitely recommend looking online, they've got good deals for dinner + room.

I had my retirement party in the D hotel. The staff as usual are always very professional. We stayed over and the rooms were excellent.Breakfast and all food at the hotel is of a very good standard.With its location overlooking the Boyne and in the centre of the town it is difficult to fault

There's technically nothing wrong with the d Hotel; the rooms are well-appointed, the location is central and the breakfast is actually really nice. However, this is a party hotel with hen/stag events and/or weddings or anniversary/birthday parties going on nearly every weekend we've stayed there. This means thumping music at all hours of the night, smokey hallways and a frazzled staff. Two of the three times we stayed we had to switch rooms due to the strong stench of smoke from previous smoking tenants (don't mix the smoking and non-smoking rooms!) and were up half the night from the music coming from the hotel bar. It's just not worth it, to be honest, and they are overpriced considering all you have to put up with. Sure, when there are no big parties the hotel is great, but we're not willing to risk another weekend at this hotel - it's better for 21-year-olds stumbling back from a hen 'do.
