“Just what I wanted”

Marie provides a top class B&B experience for the traveller. My room was very clean and comfortable. The house is located very central to Limerick city centre and a great base for travelling throughout the region also. Marie is a truly hospitable host who provides a genuine Irish welcome. Her guests are her priority and you leave feeling like you've made a new friend.

“Exceptionally friendly and helpful hosts”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 May 2009

The Almeda ids a very nice B&B just a short walk to downtown.

The owners, Sandra and Marie, were kind enough to drive us to dinner that evening at a great little Irish pub.

Clean place, good breakfast, and great Irish hospitality

“Loved the room, Landlady very helpful.........will be back”

My fiance and I stayed in this B&B for 2 nights last September. We have stayed in alot of B&Bs but I must say this one had more of a hotel feel to it very modern rooms with cable tv, tea/coffee, fresh towels, hairdryer. When we arrived we were shown to our room, we did pay upfront but we have experienced this in most B&B's and to be honest it was easier for us. We didnt really know our way around Limerick so asked the landlady, she was very helpful and very informative. The breakfast menu was very good with a good choice, I can honestly say if I am ever in Limerick again I will definitely stay here, I recommended it to my friend who stayed there a few months after me she also said she would return.

Overall enjoyable stay, comfortable rooms, good breakfast, good value for money and very friendly.

“They wont go out of their way”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2007

We stayed for one night in the Almeda B&B. When we were brought into the room there was a smell of must, however the room was grand and modern and had everything we needed. We didnt notice the smell after a while!

A little word of warning however for those guests that may be a bit on the heavy side or are above average height! The bathroom walls were just a little wider than the width of the toilet so if you had long legs you may have to find somewhere to put them while using the loo!

We were only in the room 2 minutes and the owner asked us for the payment up front quite abruptly. She asked us what we wanted for breakfast and what time we wanted breakfast and I asked her what time was the latest we could get it and she said 9.30am. As we were going out that night I asked if we could have it any later and she said no, 9.30am was the latest! Fair enough I suppose but I thought she could have swayed a little!

When we went down for breakfast the next morning, I asked if I would be able to get poached or scrambled eggs with my fry and she said she would check if the eggs were on already ,eventhough we had just arrived into the breakfast room! Low and behold she came back and said they couldnt do it because the eggs were already on!! When the breakfast did come it was pretty greasy!

The accommodation was fine and it was fairly good value for money but I wouldnt be rushing back!
