Frankly, I was a little concerned about Glen Eagles because of the other reviews ("showing signs of wear," "well worn"), but after we met Helen and saw the rooms, I stopped worrying. The location is the closest to downtown Limerick that we could find (10 min walk to King John's Castle and downtown). Her sister met us when we arrived and was very helpful. The rooms were clean and tidy and very comfortable. The place was also quiet, which was a little surprising given the proximity to downtown. Helen made a great breakfast and even offered to do some laundry for us since we arrived on a Sunday and would have had to forego clean clothes for a day if she had not. We took the bus to Limerick (train station is adjacent) and it was only a ten euro cap ride and five minutes from there to Glen Eagles. Glen Eagles is also less than a ten euro cab ride to a local car rental (Irish National) establishment. We only stayed one night although we probably could have stayed two since we did not get past Bunratty Castle and Folk Park the next day and Glen Eagles is less than 20 minutes away (we ended up staying in Ennis). Louise is a wonderful hostess, likes to meet people and is easy to talk to. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely stay again.
