We spent one night at Dooneen Lodge. The weather was pretty wet and as soon as we arrived the heating in the rooms and bathrooms was turned on. It never really got warm enough for me, though...
We had a warm welcome (Irish coffee, which we did not try...). Breakfast in the morning was good and Noreen nicely insisted one of us tried 'porridge'. One of us liked it.

We arrived in late and were offered Irish Coffee and a sandwich.The atmosphere was very homely and cosy. Felt right at home. All four of us really enjoyed our stay at Doneen lodge and will surely recommend it!!!

Finding Dooneen Lodge was a challenge, but maybe that was just an American driving in Ireland! The innkeepers were gracious and we got a great introduction to an Irish breakfast. The room, particularly the bathroom, needed some maintenance because there was some rust evident on the bathroom fixtures. Electric outlets for charging cell phones, hair dryer, etc. were a little scarce.

This stop came about halway through our 12 day whirlwind tour. We stayed at a variety of castles, hotels and B&B's. Noreen and Tom were wondeful hosts and extremely helpful offering advise on the area. The guest rooms were immaculate and charming. Our stay was a wonderful mix of modern facilities and old world charm. The breakfast was top notch. Connemara was also one of our more enjoyable stays during our 12 day visit to Ireland.
