Had high hopes for this hotel but unfortunately it was quite disappointing. Arrived late in the evening and decided to get a bite to eat in the hotel restaurant. The food took far far too long to arrive (approx 50 minutes for the main course) and was very salty. Dessert was advertised as 'seasonal fruit fool' which (after another 20 minutes waiting) turned out to be an enormous glasss of whipped cream with a few halved grapes in it. Espresso -was shockingly bad. Went for a drink in the bar afterwards - was hoping that, it being a 'boutique' hotel, there would be a nice selection of interesting beers etc. Unfortunately not, just the usual selection. Next morning I had to nip out to the car to grab something - front door locked behind me - had to stand knocking in the pouring rain for 10 minutes before the receptionist arrived to let me in (obviously a skeleton staff). Breakfast was very average, although the lady working as the waitress/cook was lovely. Room was nice enough.
