“Super Value - Family Friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 March 2010

We are family of 4. We have two little girls and this is our 1st time to stay here. Our host Laura was most welcoming and had tea and scones ready for us and the kids have some juice and cookies. The room are large and the bathrroms Huge for a B&B. We had a bath and power shower. The room was modern and fresh and very clean. Sweets for both us and kids lwere eft out for us as suprise. Cot and highchair provided. We had all mod cons a b&b would have but a super view of the countryside Down stairs we had dinig room with fridge microwave and press with tea/coffe facilities.Sitting room was lovely with kids play area and libary with game and books. Outside we had a garden with swing slides and seating area. Kids took tour of farm with jim and helped feed the animals and got to pet the animals. Super interaction. breakfast was delicious and fresh with excellent selection.
overall this stay was not long enough and i will detinetly be back. Laura Jim &Cathal were helpful friendly host but not in your face either

This was our first night in Ireland and we were very pleased to find such a gem. About 1 1/2 hrs from Dublin port. Lovely surrounding area.
Very warm welcome from Jim. Everywhere was spotless, room good size, very comfortable beds with a large en - suite that even had a foot massage !
Jim's son aged 3 was in hospital and Laura was staying with him but everything ran smooothy and breakfast was a feast, especially the fruit salad with strawberries.
We were able to start the next part of our journey to Ring of Kerry totally refreshed and ready to enjoy our stay in Ireland.
Would certainly return .

“Felt like being at home.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 July 2008

Of all of the B&Bs we stayed in, this had the largest room. We were in the family room, which had two double beds and a HUGE bathroom. I also liked the family room with TV and chairs so we could unwind during a rain storm. It was very much like being in their home, rather than in a room.

James took us around while he fed the animals: sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, rabbits, and pigs. He was great at explaining breeds and how they were raised.

The setting is quite nice and only about 20 min from Kilkenny. Laura was also very helpful in recommending things to do and where to eat.

“Very relaxing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2007

We had a great time at Byrnes Grove. Our 2 year old son thoroughly enjoyed himself especially feeding the animals.
Jim and Laura were exceptional hosts, offering a warm and friendly welcome. We would recommend Byrnes Grove without hesitation.
