Stayed here for the June bank holiday weekend during the Cat Laughs Festival. The city was a bit crazy with queues for all the best night spots and loud music coming from the pubs, so being only ten minutes walk away, Fanad House was a haven for a good nights sleep when my stamina quit before the noise did.

The breakfast was excellent. The traditional Irish fry-up was hearty - it wasnt a weekend for the healthy bread and museli options available. The room was clean and bright. It was in the front, facing onto the road, but that didnt keep us awake.

Great location right across from castle. Five minute walk from anywhere in Kilkenny you want to be. Delicious breakfast with brewed coffee.
More of a hotel style b&b then the traditional b&b. Rooms cleaned daily. Owner very nice and friendly.

We found this place on Trip Advisor and it was a gem of a find. We stayed for 5 nights before and after a wedding and were extremely happy with our stay. It is very well located; just up from the Castle and around a 5 minute walk from the City Centre. It is in a very quiet and setback residential area.

The room was fine - a large double room; extremely comfortable and fine en suite facilties. My wife has CFS so spent quite a lot of time in the room after the exertions of the wedding and can vouch for the comfort of the room and the large double bed. The room was cleaned and tidied and towels were replaced daily.

Cooked Breakfast was great - a bumper and it set us both up for the day - in fact we lasted almost until the evening and we were doing a lot of walking about!

All in all a fine Guesthouse that we would fully recommend to anyone wanting a friendly, homely stay in Kilkenny.

Pat was a very friendly and helpful host and nothing was too much trouble. In fact he was the perfect Irish host.

Fanad House is conveniently located about 10-15 minute walk from the centre of Kilkenny. Quiet location. The room and bathroom were large and very clean. Very good breakfast. Host was friendly and very accommodating. The room was serviced on our second day. Great stay. We would definitely stay again.
