We had the pleasure of staying at Chestnut Lodge on the night of our journey exploring parts of Ireland. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Andrew who showed us to our spacious rooms. He assisted in carrying our luggage up one easily maneurec flight of stairs. He then took us on a brief tour of this lovely home. They provide a lovely sitting room for guests and the dining area is very nice as well. The home is very nicely decorated and Andrew informed us the owner,Sean, oversaw the decorating. It was getting late and we were hungry. Andrew directed us to a lovely pub named Carol's in knocktropher. The food here was amazing. We went back the following evening to the same place for dinner, but arrived too late for dinner, being used to later dining hrs in the states. We were disappointed only in not getting to eat we got to experince a local farmers dance and actually got to dance. We stayed with Sean and Andrew for 3 wonderful nights This was some of the best coffee we had in Ireland. The breadfasts were good. Sean and Andrew were both so delightful we would have overlooked any shortcoming they may have had. This was a wonderful horse farm. The permitted us to go and visit with the horses including a new foal. What a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend this place to anyone planning to stay in the area.
