We stayed at the Park Villa B&B for 1 night in early August. It is a guesthouse- style B&B, by which I mean it stands alone (not a connected townhouse) and has two floors, with bedrooms on the second floor.
Park Villa is a very pretty B&B right off a main road, and easier to find than the other 6 B&Bs in which we stayed on our trip – thanks to directions noting a hotel across the street. It is painted a cheery yellow with flowerboxes hanging all over it, creating a very inviting approach. The B&B is family run; the host’s son welcomed us, showed us our room, and gave us the Wireless Password. Park Villa has a very cozy, homey interior; our room was pretty, clean, and comfortable, with a hair dryer and a lovely bathroom – the shower had great heat and pressure (this was important to us as our previous B&B had terrible showers). Through the bathroom’s frosted window, you could see flowers, of course! Our host Vicky was very friendly and quite talkative; we enjoyed a lovely breakfast and conversation with her (though she cautioned that her family only eats full Irish breakfasts at Christmas as they're not good for you!). She is energetic, attentive and friendly; we felt more like we were staying with family friends than at a B&B. Park Villa is in a great location with easy walk into town, yet quiet for being on a main road. We found several pubs that were locals-only. Tip: as noted, ask for the Wireless Internet password before you go out for the afternoon/evening, as there isn't a guidebook for the room.
Some notations for less-traveled guests: we stayed at 7 B&Bs in Ireland, and this one tied for the smallest bedroom – there is only enough room for one person to walk around the double bed. However, as noted on my other B&B reviews, this isn't an issue for us since we don't travel with much luggage and to be honest, it added to the “guest” feel. It's like staying in a guest room of your friend's house, except with its own private bath.
