Margaret and Tony made us feel very welcome in their home. The breakfast was well prepared and presented. The choices on offer for the breakfast were incredibly good. The room was spotless. The location was a picture with parking facilities and a beautiful garden. Excellent value.

The Hillgrove B&B was our first stop in our trip thru Ireland and we couldn't start any better. We had a little trouble finding it but it was probably our mistake as its on the main road, not walking distance to Kilkenny but very easy to reach from town.
The house is spectacular from the outside, with a beautiful garden, and the inside is very lovely too. Our room (triple) was not too big but had all comforts, including heating and bed-heating that was nice to use even in August! All details very well cared of, with pretty decoration.
Margaret was so nice and welcomed us very friendly, giving us all the useful informations, including where to eat in Kilkenny (and we loved the Kyteler's Inn she suggested) and where to park in the city.
There was a wide choice in the breakfast menu and since we stayed for 2 nights we could try most of it and all was delicious.
The breakfast room was very nice too with lovely view on the garden.
I can strongly recommend this B&B, probably the best we stayed in.

We passed here one night. The house is a little gem, really nice and welcoming. The owner, Mrs. Margaret, is so kind and helpful but not inappropriate...a lovely person who suggested us a pub where we passed a funny evening and we had a good Irish dinner.
Ah....the gardens of the house are really nice....

This beautiful home is tucked away off a main road in Kilkenny. It is easy to find and our room was perfect for our needs. We stayed three nights and had an amazing breakfast each and every morning. Margaret, our host, baked fresh brown bread and banana bread for us and they were simply delicious! It is not walking distance to the center of town however Margaret told us about places to park and sure enough it was easy and cheap. She suggested some great restaurants and we had a great time walking around town and seeing the sights. We were there at the end of April and the weather was perfect!
