My wife and I stayed a night here while traveling from Cork to Dublin. The free parking was nice and the host was very welcoming. She directed us towards several restaurants and pubs in the city center.

Beautiful home, breakfast much better than most, warm plums etc. Warm hospitality, excellent accommodation. Comfortable bed! super location.

Good location B&B with private parking and full Irish breakfast. We payed 70 euro for a double room. Nothing to write home about but ok for a short stay.

We stayed in the Carraig Rua BB in mid July (myself & my Girlfriend both in our 30's), we both felt very disappointed with our stay, the hospitality we recieved was very poor, we told the lady running the bb that we would like our breakfast for 9.30am & she said that was fine only to recieve a knock on our door at 9.00am the next morning telling us to get up for our breakfast. The breakfast was also not very nice at all either. After breakfast we returned to our bedroom knowing that we had to check out at 11.00am, we relaxed in our room then decided to have showers before we left, then at 10.30am we recieved another knock on our bedroom door again the lady asking us to leave the b&b before 11.00am. I found this quite annoying as we were both packing up our belongings to leave at 11.00am. Carraig Rua BB is a nice period property with nice features but i have to say that the hospitality left alot to be desired, Just because you have a good flow of tourists coming through your door does'nt mean you can treat guests like that, i know for sure the next time im staying kilkenny it won't be at the carraig Rua B&B.
