We arrived early and were still able to check in. Great hosts - Liam & Brigid. Best breakfast in Ireland on our trip. Liam even went out of his way to help us when our GPS battery was dying. Liam recommended an amazing restaurant in town - La Rivista - that we absolutely enjoyed. Wonderful stay!

The hosts were lovely. The room was warm,large and very comfortable. It was easy walking distance into town. It was just lovely no faults anywhere.

We enjoyed our stay at Alcantra. Liam had a family obligation that took him out of town but he came back from Dublin for the one night just for us. The rooms are beautiful and immaculate. Brigid didn't come back from Dublin so we didn't get a chance to meet her but Liam was a great host. And his breakfast was wonderful. This B & B is within walking distance of the castle. Kilkenny is a busy little town so we were happy to have a place to park the car and do our sightseeing on foot.

We just had to write to tell you about this brilliant Bed & Breakfast with a brillaint hostess ~ what a find !!
Brigid, the hostess, is so welcoming, greeting us
with a cup of tea/coffee and biscuits in her lovely sunny conservatory. She gave us a map of Kilkenny, and had time to sit with us, pointing out different places of interest for us to visit, nothing was too much trouble.
Our rooms were beautifully decorated and very well appointed. Brigid's breakfast was so lovely, we all had the 'full irish' which was delicious and so were her home made scones, all this is not to be missed.
So if you are ever in Kilkenny, stay at Alcantra, as you will not be disappointed ~ thanks again Brigid.
