I stayed at The Meadows with my sister and sister-in-law. We had a bit of difficulty finding them (I forgot to print out the directions), but simply asked a few pedestrians and eventually found our way. It was well worth the effort. This was my 3rd trip to Ireland, and I found the owners of this B&B to be the warmest & most genuine of all my stays.

The rooms were excellent (with views of the beautiful gardens). My sister-in-law's single room was huge (I'm thinking that they may have put her in a double, if they weren't fully booked. I shared a twin room with my sister, which was also quite roomy, but I really envied that single!)

It is a bit outside the center of town, but it's certainly walkable for someone with strong legs. We took the easy route, though, and gratefully accepted the husband's offer of a ride into town (we took a cab back).

The breakfast was also excellent, and the breakfast room had a lovely view of the garden (a great way to start the day). When I asked for a bit of advice on our drive into Dublin, they printed out directions for me & spent quite a bit of time explaining how we could do some sightseeing & still reach the city at a good hour.

I was a little bit nervous about this B&B because I didn't see a lot of reviews for it, but I'm so glad that we chose this one. I highly recommend this B&B, for the rooms, the breakfast & the warmth of the hosts!

My husband and I spent two nights at The Meadows B&B in mid-June. This was our favorite B&B of our two week trip. Our double room and ensuite bathroom was spotless, the bed was very comfortable, the breakfast was generous and delicious---all at a very reasonable rate. In fact, it was the only place where we were offered scones with a variety of jams, which we absolutely loved.

The best part of staying here was the owners. They were so warm, welcoming and extremely helpful, it felt like we were staying at our aunt's and uncle's home. In the end, we did not want to leave and it was hard saying good-bye. If we would have been able to extend our vacation we would have definately wanted to extend our stay at the Meadows. Since we were unable to do so, we will be back to visit on our next trip.

Lastly, the 15-20min walk to town is very scenic. It is along a stream with a beautiful view of Kilkenny Castle. In fact, it was a relief to leave the nightlife in the city, and retreat to the quite suburbs. I highly recommend this lodging to anyone visiting Kilkenny.

This B&B is a little out of town. That's a good thing in our book. I read another reviewer before we booked mention the long walk into town. Ridiculous. It's an incredibly scenic 15 minute walk. You walk along the river with the skyline of Kilkenny in front of you.

The B&B is spotless and the bathrooms were great. Hot water and water pressure not a problem. Breakfast was really great. Better then average. The owners were really nice. The first day, they drove us to the river walkway but it was very close. They're just very nice people. We only stayed one night. Too bad. Kilkenny was our favorite place compared to Dublin, Galway and Ennis.

We have stayed with Kathleen and Paddy on three previous occasions and have found the accomodation to be to be of the very highest standard. The cleanliness of the bedrooms and bathrooms is always exemplary, the copious breakfast is to an excellent standard and Kathleen and Paddy could not be more friendly and helpful. The bedrooms are spacious and well appointed. Parking is available on the quiet cul de sac directly in front of the house. We have stayed in all types of accomodation in various countries and would definitely rate this B&B to be top notch.
