we held a funraising event - a Style Night - in the Newpark Hotel last October, and over 300 people attended. Everything went really well and the night was a great success. We had to visit the Hotel leading up to the event and the staff were most helpful and nothing was a problem to them. Anything we asked them to do or get for us they did. On the night itself they continued in this manner and were very courteous and helped us in making the night a great one all round.
We would certainly go back there for any future events.

From making the reservation with Mary the trip was very smooth! Stayed here with a group of friends for a birthday party. The check in was smooth, the room was a nice size, clean and nicely decorated. The lobby is lovely and there was a lovely fire. All the sandwiches etc that people were having around us looked lovely! I has a swim and thought the spa was very well maintained and the staff very friendly. We went out for dinner, but had breakfast the next morning. We had to wait a few moments to be seated but the food was lovely and was constantly being refreshed. My checkout was really good, I enquired as to the opening of a local attraction and all the girls on reception went out of their way to find out for me. SO friendly! Would thoroughly recommend this hotel, am just sorry I did not find out the names of the ladies on reception so I could thank them by name.

We stayed in this hotel for a 3 nights stay offer with my husband and 2 kids from 20-23th of Jan.
This is my birthday treat and our wedding anniversary so we really want it to be extra special .Based on some good reviews for this hotel my husband and i decided to go and make a booking and knowing also that this hotel was rated 4star, we never been to Kilkenny yet so we want to explore the county.We checked in at late at nearly 8 pm ,upon arrival we were not given a warm welcome especially we had nearly 2 hours of driving we were met by receptionist JULIE which is not friendly at all did not explained well the hotel facilities as if she was in a hurry when she was talking to us.I asked her if i could request for a dental pack which i felt i should not have done because we stayed numerous times in different 4 stars hotels and its always been there .The replied I got was"There is nothing like that in this hotel if you want you can go to the shop there "which i don't know where's that shop she's talking about,imagine that we arrived late and we don t know the place and yet...Is this 4 star?There was no effort done from her to help us.It was humiliating on my part!!
The next day I tried to talk with different receptionist MIKEA she was the opposite of JULIE she was accommodating ,friendly and very much willing to help she gave us a leaflet about Kilkenny and its attractions when i asked about the dental pack she said she will make a request of it and when i checked the room its there already, so how will you explain this JULIE?On our first night my 4 year old son got sick on the bed so were expecting that the duvets wiill be change the next day because its wet but to our surprise it wasn't changed at all you can still smell the puke that was disgusting now I must say service POOR!!
The 3rd night were having the free dinner offer ,food was OK but taste not impressive.we did not realized its only 3 course meal they offer its fine but i felt that it should have been told to us the dinner package well.To sum it all were not going to go back to this hotel, very frustrating,,!!!

We stayed at the Newpark Hotel for one night as part of a longer trip. The location is good and handy for the city centre. The hotel itself is nice, the reception and bar areas were well presented and the staff were friendly and efficient.

Our room was very spacious and looked nice on first inspection, but I did notice some rough edges later - screws that once held something, but were now left sticking out of the wall, a dirty fan in the bathroom and one of the sockets wasn't affixed properly to the wall. All small things and nothing that would really decrease your enjoyment of the room (unless you're quite uptight) but still I would have expected better.
