After reading one of the prior reviews about owner's behavior I am pretty shocked... Doesn't sound at all like the person we met who was very nice and polite...
stayed in a 6 bed dorm... decent sized room...
Breakfast was basic, not as good as average hostel one (maybe because it was such a small hostel), but it was free so no real complaints there...
The town is pretty small so any location would have been central... everywhere we went was under 15 minutes away walking...

I spent 3 days in Kilkenny, Ireland in this wonderful hostel. It's quite a walk from the main bus station but you can't miss it. It's totally green :)

It has about 5 rooms and 2 bathrooms with a very cosy interior. I felt very welcome and a bit like being at home. There's a grandma-style living room with a fireplace and armchairs with dangerously thick fillings ;)

It is run by a local guy an his dog is around all the time, welcoming guests and eager playing with them. The kitchen is very well equipped and clean.

There's a supermarket 5 minutes away and the main shopping street is about 8 minutes by foot.

I enjoyed my stay very much and definitely will return sometime.

Myself and a girlfriend stayed here for one night in September. It was very clean, and quiet, and the staff was very nice. We arrived fairly late at night, and the gentleman who helped us was very understanding and kind. It is a good location - near a busy street of bars and restaurants. We drove to Kilkenny, so there was also a lot of street parking nearby.
I would stay here again the next time I'm in Kilkenny.

we just stayed for one night, but we were very happy with the room and all the other facilities (very good equiped,kitchen, wi-fi, own shower...) - so we would recommend this hostel everbody.
