“Ummmm. Wondering if the last 2 reviewers stayed in same place ????”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2009

Would have been nice to be informed that the roof was leaking. The pub was in disrepair and lack of parking ability or being told '' park in the back , it's belong to the hotel behind us but [--] them if u get clamped , tell em yer staying in the hotel'' would'nt have struck me as a proper B&B . The smell of stale beer when u enter the location certainly told me it's a while since it was properly cleaned . A major dissapointment to us and in the end we decided not to stay the night there .

“Flannery's B&B is an excellent place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2008

As a family we were staying in the Rivercourt hotel right next to Flannery's Pub. Dropped into Flannery's pub to have a drink and got chatting to the manager Brian and the owner daughter Ciara who were very friendly and helpful. Decided to check out of the hotel and stay in Flannery's B&B for a couple of days also saving ourselves a fortune. We stayed for two nights (Fri & Sat.) paid €100 pp and the two kids went free (12 and 13 years of age) this we felt was excellent value considering it was the bank holiday weekend. Having met the owner Paul who basically could not do enough not only for us but also for the kids, he was so kind and generous and even offered the kids their own room free of charge, you would not get this treatment anywhere else in Ireland not that we know of anyway. The rooms are not 5 star but are spotlessly clean and comfortable and all the staff are so friendly. The breakfast was very tasty and 10 out of 10 to the chef as the food in general is excellent. We certainly would recommend Flannery's Pub and B&B to anyone visitng Kilkenny and we look forward to going back there in the very near future. Many thanks to Paul and staff and hope to see you soon.

“Super Find!”

Found this place by chance-friend on a hen nite had stayed there. Booked in for 2 nights with my friend as we were heading to a wedding the the rivercourt hotel(just behind Flannery's). when we got there, was pretty surprised as we didn't realise just how central it was gonna be-right on the bridge, smack in the middle of the town. Parked in the car park for the weekend for 2 euro!!!
The rooms weren't 5 star, but then at 70 euro a nite for bed and breakfast in the middle of the town-we hadn't got high exxpectations. However, the rooms were spotless, had lockers, wardrobe, dressing table, en suite bathroom, mini heater(in case it was cold?!!) fresh towels, extra pillows etc. We were facing out onto the street, so there was the usual noise at 2am.
The guy behind the bar was telling us it's being done up too at the mo- rooms painted etc, so can only imagine what it'll be like after.
The brekkie the next morning was super, went down about half ten-thinking we might have missed brekkie, but within 10 mins, there was a full Irish breakfast, orange juice, toast and fresh coffee on our table.
We ended up eating there that afternoon too, had 'lemon chicken'' which was lovely too.... have to say I was pleasantly suprised, booked a nite for my aunts birthday in May. 11 of us going down, should be nice. Glad I found the place, the manager/owner 'Paul' was a lovely chap. Was very helpful with directions and places to go etc.
When I think that I almost spent 250 euro for 2 nights in the hotel up the road?!!! glad I found a nice spot and saved myself 110 euro :)
