“Very basic”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 April 2010

After driving around Tralee for over an hour we were just glad to get accommodation in Sean Ogs Guest House. The only plus for this place was its location as it was very central to the town and close to a car park (pay & display). The bar was buzzing with live music which was very enjoyable and the owner friendly but dont expect any luxury here. The room was so small as was the bathroom albeit they were clean. No other luxuries on offer in this bedroom apart from a standard double bed. Breakfast was basic and tasted like it was all deep fried!! Will not be in a hurry back. Excellent restaurant 'Cassidys' just around the corner!

“Go, it's worth the trip!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 March 2010

Wife and I found this excellent institution courtesy of the local Garda station (Kudo's to Deirdre) whose staff called a couple places to see if they had accomodations on short notice. Boy, did they do right by us! Staff could not have been nicer and owner Sean is a winner, I'd hoist a brew with Nyles anywhere on the planet. We had a convivial evening among new friends. If you aren't searching for some accidental tourist lodging w/ a McDonald's adjoining, but instead a friendly place with a warm atmosphere among real people, then go. You will certainly not be sorry. Good accomodations upstairs, great breakfast and good restaraunts in the center city area. How many stars you got? Use 'em all. John Milligan and Sunny Letot

“NOISEY bad service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2008

stayed for a night in this b&b with my girlfriend. Was informed that it was almost all couples that were staying that night and that it would be a pleasant stay. however we were kept awake until about 5.00am by a stag group that were there also.they repeatedly knocked on our door. they were very drunk and let run wild in the place as there was no night porter to control what was going on. or if there was one i couldnt find him. when i went to bar in the morning with my complaint i was bascally ignored by the owner or a man who called himself the owner he told me his name was "salads". he offered no apology and no refund just stuffed my money in his pocket didnt even put it through the till. The sheets on the bad had hair on them but he reassured me that they were clean and there was no hot water in the morning, at which i was told that i would have to get up earlier even though i was on of the first up because of no sleep. i would not recommend this place to anyone

  • Liked — the pub down stairs was welcoming with friendly staff and good music
  • Disliked — noise, the owner

“Depends on what your looking for”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2008

Really small rooms not a place for a romantic weekend with your girlfriend. Im sure its a great place for a gang of lads going on the beer for the weekend. Staff were very nice. The price was a bit much 80 for a double room. We wanted to go to bed early because we had an early start the next day but no chance of getting to sleep you can hear everything from the people downstairs in the bar to the cars going by on the street.

“Great location, excellent pub downstairs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2007

My room was very nice and modern. Accommodations exceeded my expectations. Breakfast was great.

There is, conveniently, a pub located downstairs so if you're feeling like a pint you don't have far to go. They have live music several nights a week. Surprisingly, though, my room was quiet. The pub downstairs did not disturb me in any way.

The B&B is located in Tralee, which is convenient to the Ring of Kerry, Dingle Peninsula, and other areas worth visiting.

  • Liked — Comfortable room with great Irish pub downstairs and live music.
  • Disliked — I was looking for a simple, reasonable priced B&B, which is exactly what I found. No complaints.
