“Ireland trip 1”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

We loved this Castle! It really is what you think of when you think Irish Castle. It is a smaller castle so you feel as though it is all yours when you are there. Our room was great and BIG. Dinner and breakfest was wonderful. The pub was so cute and cozy! Not much to do in the area (unless you drive a ways) but the castle really is good enough. Just loved it!

“Felt like a King.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Wonderful experience from being greeted by Arthur the Irish Wolfhound to the great food. The room was the best of our entire trip to Ireland. The rooms and surrounds are beautiful.

“My wedding day at Ballyseede”

We held our wedding reception at Ballyseede Castle in July 2011. Ballyseede is the perfect venue for weddings because of its charm and elegance. The rooms are beautifully furnished and there is a wealth of history, making it a very interesting venue. The 2 dogs and shetland ponies in the garden just complete the scene. The staff are so competent, that you can totally relax and not worry about a thing. Despite being the bride (who apparently is not supposed to eat a lot on the day), our wedding feast stands out in my memory as one of my favourite meals of all time! Ballyseede delivered such a high standard on the day, it really surpassed our expectations, which made it all extra special. This is a really beautiful venue.

“my wife's dream”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

We spent several nights at the Castle and my wife fell in love with the place from the setting to our third floor room. The staff were very helpful withiout being intrusive.
We arrived and i thought I saw the worlds largest stuffed animal until Arthur the Irish wolfhound stood up. A most poltie and well behaved person. To call him a dog would be insulting.
The food was good and we had a special meal in their restaurant with some wine from a rather good but limited wine list.
We have all intentions of going back but a place like this isn't cheap but we will get there.
Not only a great place to rusticate but it is close enough to drive to major attractions in the area.

Room Tip: 3rd floor back of castle great view and large

“Could not have asked for a better place to stay to end our Irish castle - a true castle experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

My wife and I and our two sons aged 23 and 19 stayed here for 1 night, this was the second last night of our 8 week holiday through Europe, UK and Ireland and our last night in Ireland. We were looking for somewhere special to stay, in particular some form of authentic castle accommodation.

After much searching we found Ballyseede, and checked its reviews on Tripadvisor which were all positive so we choose this for our accommodation. As we were staying there in early Oct 2011 this was moving into the quiet season which meant that we were able to get rooms at a cheaper rate then normal which made this accommodation more affordable. We were able to book both a double room and a twin room.

Our arrival to Ballyseede was straight forward, and it was a delight to drive up the curving driveway and be confronted by Ballyseede in front of us. It is a delightful authentic castle that provided glorious period accommodation. Our rooms were enormous with gorgeous period furniture and lovely furnishings, the twin room comprised two double beds and was even bigger then the room with the queen bed. The castle had a lovely formal dining room and a relaxing bar area with two lounge rooms that were available for guests to use. We elected to have a casual bar meal in one of the lounge rooms as our evening meal and it was most relaxing and satisfying. The whole ambience of the establishment was so relaxing.

Breakfast was served in a separate room adjacent to the formal dining room, again in a lovely setting and most filling. All of the staff working there were so friendly and helpful.

We could not have asked for a better end to our stay in Ireland, we absolutely loved our stay and wished we could have stayed longer – it was certainly one of the highlights of our 8 week holiday. We would definitely stay here again.
