“Like home away from home”

Very warm, homy and hospitable place. Big beautiful house located near the lake, large light rooms, floors are covered with soft fluffy rugs. Tea, coffee and scones after the acquaintance. After treatment we went in the forest to see beautiful waterfall and it took us almost three hours. In the process we got in the rain and soaked to the skin bu when we returned to our hosts the fireplace in the living room was in flames and we spent the rest of the evening enjoying the warmth. Sean offered to drive us to neighboring village to pub there and back, but we refused. Irish breakfast in the morning was delicious.

“A Very Good Place to Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2011

My wife and I (Canadian seniors, vegetarians) found this B&B to be a great place for a five night stay in July 2011. Mary and Sean were helpful in so many ways like travel plans, restaurant recommendations, flexible breakfast menu (porridge) , and even drying my bog walk drenched hiking shoes and socks. The location near but outside Killarney is great for local hiking (Gap of Dunloe and Tomies Walk) and car-based trips to the Dingle, Beara and Sheepshead Peninsulas as well as the Ring of Kerry

“a real irish country experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2011

This B&B was farther from Killarney that we expected, but it was a nice opportunity to enjoy the lakes in Killarney. We went horseback riding in the nearby Killarney riding stables and drove into Killarney the next day. It is a true farmhouse experience.

“A wonderful experience!”

We arrived after a long day we arrived to this out of the way B& B. Mary greeted us with tea and cookies. When she learned that my husband, the primary driver for our trip was exhausted she offered to drive us to dinner that night and pick us up when we were done. How gracious and lovely! The room was great as well. We wished we had more than one night there. Mary was humorous and pleasant even when she had to chase us down to get a key we forgot to turn in. She was also informative and helpful about local things to see and do.

“The Invicta Treated us Like Royalty”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 July 2011

If you are looking for a Bed & Breakfast with all the Irish hospitality the country has to offer The Invicta is it. When we arrived Sean greeted us and was the epitome of a wonderful host. It was rainy and a bit chilly in Killarney and he gave us tea, coffee, and biscuits upon arrival. We chatted and then he showed us to our beautiful room. Out of all the B&B’s we stayed in, The Invicta was by far the most beautiful. It is situated right on the lake and is convenient to Killarney, the Gap of Dunloe, and Killarney National Park. Sean recommended Kate Kearney’s Cottage for dinner which is about a 5 minute drive and is situated right next to the gap. It offered live music and good food. Sean and Mary have boats available for anyone wanting to use them on the lake. Unfortunately due to the weather we were not able to use them. This B&B was a wonderful stay and is definitely recommended for a trip to Killarney. It was extremely clean and the breakfast was wonderful. Sean remembered what we liked from our previous breakfast and left the black and white pudding off our plates on the second day. Very hospitable!
