“lovely stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

My husband & I with our 2 year old stayed here for just one night in early Feb. Entrance & foyer look impressive, hotel overall was very clean, bright & modern. Staff friendly & helpful.Room was a corner room at the front with a mountain view, very spacious, modern tv, bed extremely comfortable- & plenty of room when our 2 year old climbed in from his cot in the early hours!!
We had room service for dinner - food was fresh, hot & very tasty.
The only issue really is that I did not realise the hotel does not have its own pool facilities for under 18's- so we had to go across the carpark to the Gleneagles pool- which was nice but a bit awkward.
I popped down to the Vitality Suite in the Spa, lovely facilities & very relaxing.
I do think this hotel is a little overpriced but we did have a lovely stay, hence the "very good" rating
Overall a lovely stay, but more for

My boyfriend and I have stayed in the Brehon on five occasions now and always depart very happy and looking forward to our next return. We have always had a lovely room with spectacular views. Had food in the bar and even though there was a mix up with the order we thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff so friendly and pleasant. Always efficient when emailing regarding our reservation. Can't wait to return for stay number 6!

“Will be back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

I stayed at The Brehon hotel with my husband two weeks ago. This was not our first time. Wow factor when you arrive at the huge marble and wood open foyer and is a lovely place to sit and have a coffee or a drink. We did not avail of treatments in the spa this time but did avail of the spa facilities. The pool isnt huge but it has a very relaxed atmosphere and has all the usual facilities and lovely treatments if you have the time. Room was lovely. Contemporary yet cozy. Food in the restaurant is always second to none. This time service was slow, though it was a busy saturday night. The wine waiter really knows his stuff and is a good asset to the hotel. Really enjoyed our stay. This is a lovely hotel and we will definately be back.

Room Tip: As the hotel is located back from the main road whatever the room you choose will not have noise.

“Overpriced but Grand. Wouldnt call it 4/5 star, More Like 3 star.”

Theres nothing 'wrong' with this hotel but it is defnitely overated. I would rate it 3 star. it is verrrrry expensive for what it is. Rooms worth about 100 euro each. Its not a 5 star experience. I'd stay in the Lake house hotel killarney for a better experience and a nicer hotel. The Brehan is newly built and looks it. It has nothing spectacualr about it, but again, nothing wrong with it either. Just would not call it luxury.

“A Genuine Irish Welcome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We have stayed at this wonderful hotel in Killarney several times to relax and enjoy the concerts held in the concert hall located just across the parking lot. The reception staff is always very welcoming and Mr Curran goes out of his way to give you a genuine Irish welcome full of traditional Kerry hospitality. He makes sure you find everything you need. We have stayed in several of the rooms but by far our favourite room has corner windows, in the front of the hotel, overlooking the Killarney mountain range. The rooms are immaculate, the furnishing are clean, comfortable and in excellent taste.

Our last stay was toward the end of December and the Lakes of Killarney were still very beautiful. We never miss the scrumptious breakfast because we think it is the best in Ireland and you often see the stars from the concerts sitting right there having breakfast at a table next to you.

Room Tip: Corner Suites in the front are quiet, large, sunny and face fantastic views of the mountains. Rooms...
