After a delay in departing Dublin, we arrived at nearly 11:30pm to Ross Castle Lodge. My friends and I were quite a sight for sore eyes. Denis kindly stayed awake to let us in and offered a warm welcome and showed us to our room. There were three in our party, and we were given a two-bedroom, one-bath suite upstairs. The rooms were extremely comfortable, with adequate space for moving around, and included charming architectural and decorative touches. The bathroom appeared to be recently renovated, with an electric shower - which required a bit of direction in use, but was perfectly fine.
Rosaleen served a great breakfast the next morning, with options that accommodated some dietary restrictions, and helped us decide our itinerary for the day. Due to time constraints, we had to choose between the Dingle Peninsula and the Ring of Kerry. She offered great advice, and once we decided on the Ring of Kerry, she pulled out a map and made a list of notable stops and landmarks to visit on our drive. We followed the list to the letter, and had an amazing drive that day.
The warmth and hospitality here were outstanding. The premises were clean and the hydrangeas at the entrance and the driveway were absolutely gorgeous. We wished we would have stayed here one more night.
