We spent one night at Kathleen's Country House. Kathleen was very friendly and an amazing wealth of knowledge on the area. She asked a few questions and then quickly pointed out what she thought would be the highlights for us. Our room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was cooked to order and very nice.

Kathleen built and has run this magnificent purpose built b&b for I think she said around 16 years now. She has just got it completely right. Everything works perfectly the ambience is great, furnishings lovely and Kathleen herself is such a treat. A hostess who goes way beyond, is a wealth of knowledge and has a really beautiful soul. If you are passing this way, Kathleens is a must.

Beautiful place !! When it was wet on the links , her large "vestibule" served well to dry our gear . Loved the Irish breakfasts .

We were on a driving vacation from Dublin to Kerry and had pre-arranged to return our rental car at Kerry airport and fly back to Dublin for our return flights home. If not for those uncooperative beasts at Ryan Air, we'd have extended our stay for several more nights to enjoy the amazing hospitality at Kathleen's Country House for a while longer.

Conveniently located? Yes! Stunningly elegant house? Yes! Lovely grounds? Yes! Spotlessly clean and comfortable rooms? Yes! Fantastic breakfast? Yes! An ideal spot for families or a romantic stay for couples? Yes! All this and a modest price tag, too. The only thing more wonderful than Kathleen's Country House is Kathleen herself: she is warm, charming, funny and incredibly knowledgeable about the area. Leave your guidebook in your room - you won't need it with Kathleen's friendly guidance about what to see and do and where to eat. When you've worn yourself out with your day trip you can stop off for some quiet time in the beautiful library room or open a bottle of wine and enjoy the lovely fire in the parlor before heading up to your comfortable room for the night.

Kathleen's will certainly be our FIRST (and longest) stop the next time we're in Ireland!
