Had dinner here one night and it was lovely. Well worth a visit. The restaurant has beautiful decor and we had a lovely table by window.. beautiful with candles and lights. Relaxing. I had lasagne and it was yummy and the goats cheese it also highly recommended. Chips were hot and tasty and the waitress was lovely and helpful

Stayed their twice now. Can't recommend it enough. Located in the heart of Killarney. The beds we comfortable, the rooms clean, the breakfast was a feast. And the bar down stairs was lively. Would recommend if anyone wanted to say in the soul of Killarney.

I honestly don't know where to start with this review...there is much to tell!! It all started when we checked in, the properitor (I think) was a stern looking woman who was not into small talk at all. We asked her was she busy, she turned her back on us. That was fine, it was late, people can't always be in good form...The younger lady who checked us in asked us what price we had been quoted on the net, I wondered afterwards if I had said any price would she just have accepted it. I had a reservation number but they didn't seem to use these numbers at all! We were informed that breakfast would be served from 9.30 am to 12.00, great time really. Off we went on our night out and enjoyed it even though to our amazement, Killarney was much quieter than any of our previous visits. The recession is certainly affecting the businnesses here.

The next morning, we discovered that there were no towels in the room. We had to ask the stern woman to get them for us, she let herself into everyones rooms looking for towels (even when people were in bed)! We got our towels and went on our merry way, checked out and were informed that breakfast had finished at 10.30. When we informed her that we had been told 12.00, she insisted that she had been there when the other lady had informed us of the time. We left and on the way out, I decided to check out the bar. It turned out that breakfast was being served until 12 (I really don't know why the stern woman didn't want us eatting). Breakfast was yummy...our next issue was that we asked an elderly man in the bar for directions...he was a tyrant. He gave out to us for asking him would our next destination be signposted...his word's were "sure if it is, why are you bothering to ask me", he also stated a few times "would ye be quiet and listen to me". At this stage i started to run out of the establisment. One last final whinge...I was overcharged over €8...it isn't much and if the hotel had been lovely, i would have happily left it to them. However when i spoke to the stern woman about this, she informed me that the tourist office would be taking my extra money?!! Why would they be taking my money when I booked the hotel and a reservation/admin price was already included. At this stage I pointed out my case, got my money and ran. Would I stay here again?NEVER, we were terrified of the stern lady...she really mustn't like guests or maybe it was just us!

Terrible place to stay. unfriendly staff. They quoted me one price when I rang and then upped it when I arrived and said that was always the price. Room not cleaned and in pretty poor condition for the new and improved price I was quoted on arrival. Pub seemed pretty lively tbh but basically when it came to staying there the attitude was here is your key, dont bother us. They also stated breakfast was at 8.30 and this was confirmed on the info sheet in the room, but the reality was they had cahnged it to 9.30 the next morn without telling anybody. I had to leave early the next day and 9.30 was too late. Would have been nice to have been informed of the late breakfast when booking in. All in all, one of the worst places I have ever stayed in. Dont do it
