“Abbey Lodge: The perfect location with the perfect staff in the perfect town!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2010

We traveled all over Ireland during the month of September and Abbey Lodge was the only B&B/Guest House that we chose to visit twice during our month-long stay. Like everyone who visits Killarney, we fell in love with this charming, vibrant town. We will never forget its friendly pubs, restaurants, jaunty rides, shopping and Irish beauty. Abbey Lodge was recommended to us by a B&B owner in Galway based on input she had received from her guests over the past few years. We were so grateful for her recommendation. Abbey Lodge turned out to be ideally located in easy, super-easy walking distance to the wonderful shopping, restaurants’ and pubs in Killarney town. Our rooms were spacious, clean, attractive and very nicely furnished. The breakfasts were superb, offering a choice of three or four different menu combinations which everyone in the dining room raved about. Abbey Lodge has two comfortable guest lounges which are equipped with computers for complimentary use by its guests. The staff and its proprietor John King, bent over backwards to assist us with recommendations, directions, even gave me some Internet genealogy links when I expressed interest in our Irish family roots. Abbey Lodge was a really good experience.

“5 Star Service & Elegant yet Homey Surroundings”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2010

Abbey Lodge is beautifully appointed with art and fine furniture. The location is no more than 2-4 minutes walking from the best pubs and great food--not to mention the most delightful jarveys and jaunting cars. The host John King is very kind and solicitous. I assume he has been hosting for years, but his attitude feels like every guest is the first.
Breakfast was wonderful. Would love to come back here in spring to see the flowers on the mountains surrounding the lakes. Wouldn't think of staying elsewhere! Thanks, John.

“Couldn't be better.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 October 2010

Staying with Johnny at The Abbey Inn was the best b&b that we encounter during our stay in Ireland. Johnny King went way beyond the call of duty to make our stay a great experience. My wife is disabled and he moved us to a better room for her and made sure that we had everything that we needed. Johnny personally moved our car to make it more convenient for us.
We felt as if we were staying with family and it just doesn't get any better.

“Charming B&B and yummy breakfast!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2010

My husband and I enjoyed so much our stay at the Abbey Lodge. The house itself is magical and full of wonderful art work and pictures, we just loved looking at it all. Breakfast was such a treat!! It was made with so much care; loved the pancakes and the waffles, so delicious!! The location was amazingly convenient, walking distance to town and a great base from which we visited The Ring of Kerry, Dingle and Baera peninsula. We loved staying there and enjoyed it so much.
