“Very comfortable stay at Hussey's Townhouse & Bar”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2008

Centrally located, Hussey's Townhouse B & B is located above a small bar in the High Street. Despite its location, the room was quiet (there is no music in the quaint bar) and clean, with a comfortable bed. I paid 55 euros for single occupancy in a double en-suite room, which had a phone, tea maker and television. My room had a view of the cathedral. There is a residents' lounge well stocked with books, radio, tea and coffee. I was on the top floor, and the creaking floorboards could be noisy for the room below. Breakfast was excellent, with a choice of four options plus cereal and juice. Recommended.

“Find another place to stay!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 July 2008

My husband and I stayed at Hussey's for 2 nights in July. There is a parking lot in the back of the townhouse, but it's the narrowest driveway I've ever seen! My husband (being from NY and not used to driving on the opposite side of the road) tried several times to get the car in straight, but scratched the side of the car anyhow! That small scratch was a fine of over 100 Euro thanks to Eurocar! Make sure to look at the pictures I'll be attaching so you can see just how narrow it is!

Our room was on the 2nd floor, and although clean, was very narrow. My husband hit his head many times on the slanted ceiling. The bed was very small, and extremely HARD! The bathroom was so narrow that we had a difficult time going in and out. The television in our room was only 13 inches, and it was on top of the armoire. We couldn't see a thing!

Our 2nd night was a disaster! The people who were staying in the room next to us, decided to come back from the pubs drunk at 1 o'clock in the morning, and have a full-fledged brawl! They were screaming, cursing, and apparently throwing things in the room. My husband was about to knock on their door, when another woman (whom we thought was Geraldine and found out later that it was another guest!) came out and yelled at them. I found all this out at breakfast with the other guests in the townhouse who ALL heard the fight.

The location was great, but find another hotel. Believe me, there are PLENTY of other places to stay in Killarney!

“Best Place We Stayed in Ireland”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2007

We booked this from a guest house and B&B guide while travelling around in Ireland. We booked the mid week three night special for 99 euro. The house was well decorated, clean and the breakfast was great. Everything was in walking distance - shops, pubs and also the Killarney national park. The proprietor was friendly and the establishment well run. I would come back to this guest house again and would recommend it to others.

A lovely hotel, nicely decorated and absoutely spotlessly clean.

“Delightful Bar & Town House in historic Town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 July 2007

A small establishment on the edge of the main town centre with parking to the rear (narrow approach). The rooms appear to have been recently refurbished and were spacious and well appointed with en-suite bathrooms or showers (our party had 3 rooms), the traditional irish bar was small and very welcoming. The staff were all very friendly and the Irish breakfast was outstanding. The number shops, bars & restaurants within a few minutes walk was amazing and it is a superb centre for exploring the ring of Kerry and the Dingle Peninsula, If you are looking for a small quiet affordable place to stay then look no further.
