The Consilio B&B is a great place to stay in the Salthill neighborhood of Galway. It's conveniently located, just a 15-minute walk from Cork's main bus station, 10 minutes from the Promenade, and close to restaurants and pubs in Salthill.
When we arrived at Consilio, jetlagged after many hours of travel, Stella greeted us with a warm smile and showed us to our clean, comfortable room. The electric teakettle with a selection of teas and coffee was a nice touch, and very much appreciated, as was the free WiFi.
What really makes Consolio shine is the hospitality of the hosts Stella and Liam. Stella is so wonderful to talk to, always offering tips on where to eat and things to see. When decided to take a day tour of the Burren and Cliffs of Moher, Stella made the arrangements for us on the spot. And when we were at a loss as to where to stay at our next destination, she helped us figure out a good place.
The breakfasts were excellent, generous, and made to order. Stella made sure each guest had exactly what he or she wanted. Cereals, yogurt, fruit salad, and brown bread were also available in addition to the hot options. The dining room itself was a beautiful sunny room overlooking a tidy garden.
This was the first B&B we visited in Ireland and one that set the bar quite high. I highly recommend this B&B for a wonderful visit.
