“Disappointing stay”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 December 2011

We stayed one night in the Copper Beech Guest House and I would not go back. We were not greeted when we arrived. The room for 3 was cold as the radiator did not work and there was no wardrobe. Our breakfast was fine except my poached eggs arrived on a wet plate. When another guest tried to leave he hit our car as the parking was very tight. The B&B owners assured us that the car was untouched but when we were leaving it was a different story. Overall not a pleasant experience and would not recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Ask for a roome with a working radiator and a wardrobe!

“Cute & there's a trick to the hot water”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2011

My boyfriend and I actually had reservations next door at an identical hotel, which was changing owners. The lady running it was kind enough to make reservations for us here, at the same discount we had gotten on our original booking. So I don't know how expensive it normally is. We did not eat breakfast here.

We had a room attached to the house which opened up directly onto the patio. It was kind of nice because we didn't feel like we bothered anyone coming and going. The room was super tiny, and also completely ADORABLE. My boyfriend and I are fairly small people (read short and thin) and as city dwellers are fairly used to small living accommodations so this was not a problem. There was a space heater and tea service which we used. I can imagine the bathroom being difficult to get into, as the door getting in was quite close to the bed.

The shower was tricky to get working. There were two problems. First of all it took about 5 minutes for the water to get hot. Second the hot / cold labels were switched. Once we figured this out though, it was nice and hot!

The B&B is about a 15 minute city-walker walk from the bus station and city center. The road is basically a strip of B&Bs and hotels. So going into city center for food is a must.

“Lovely staff, excellent location, fabulous food - I'd go again !!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2011 via mobile

I travelled with my family and had a fantastic time in Galway! We were all looked after wonderfully by the staff - Anne was so helpful and made a great breakfast!
We even had someone park the car for us!!!
I really had a nice time and was treated very well at this B and B! The rooms are comfortable and the location can't be beaten - literally a 4 minute walk from Galway city centre!
I would recommend this place to anyone!

“We really enjoyed our stay - will definitely be going back. Superb staff!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2011

We arrived with my friend for the Galway races. We were checking in early and though they were busy they worked hard to accommodate us - cleaning rooms quickly in order that we could get in and change.
The staff were really helpful - Ann even gave us a lift into Eyre Square where we could catch a bus to the races so we wouldn't have to walk to the bus in our high heels!!!! A very kind thought!
The breakfast was amazing - a great choice and cooked brilliantly. The rooms were very clean and had everything we needed; and though the bathrooms are small they had everything we needed and therefore I have no complaints.
We would definitely stay again, and have in fact already booked our stay there for next year!
Superb quality and value and a perfect location.

“Cheap accomm, friendly owners + staff and great location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2011

Has an ideal location close to square and easy to find (College Road) and very friendly staff, breakfast was great and the room was clean and tidy! Free wireless internet! Bathroom was on the small side, but sure its only for mornings and evenings as we were out all day enjoying the city and highlights! Would definitely recommend it- i would state though, based on the other reviews- try to keep in mind you get what you pay for! Its cheap, clean, friendly staff and ideal location!
